Lmaoo love how 13 year old me started this show for Groffsauce and was watching this scene for the first time all “😊” at him existing and immediately got hit with that shit. Also love how after that my ‘tism went “Oh, wow, yep. This is our show now.”
I remember some people we're thinking Holden was a psychopath. A few people even on Redditt even questioned it. I don't think he's a psychopath, I think this one incident changed him. This is what makes him want to dive in deeper into the mind and discover something new. He did everything by the book and nothing worked out right for him. The opening sets everything up so perfectly. This is why I love David Fincher as a director.
Once I got past a few shocking scenes…..very graphic……I almost quit. But I hung around and finished. Embarrassed to recommend though. I am in a minority I am sure!

I started Mindhunter a couple years ago, I believe, and didn't really finish it because of the many "unnecessary" sex scenes lol. But this has to be one of the best and most catchiest opening scenes ever written. It's certainly unexpected and breaks the pacific mood that was trying to be stablished and it starts your own process of reflection on how insane and twisted the human mind can be sometimes. Beautiful and greatly achieved opening, I might try to catch up on the series some time.
I read somewhere the sex scenes were in it to show that despite of having these interviews with serial killers and listening to their deviant sexual fantasies Holden had a healthy relationship with sex .
Was really hoping they would explore more of Holdens time in Hostage Negotiation, loved the series. Shame that Season 3 isn't happening, at least not anytime soon.
@@Space_Ghost_Hunter it didnt go broke in any way shape or form. it was the director's choice to not continue the show as he has other projects going on. must be a real shock that gay people actually existed in the 70s, right?
