Changed a few words in the chorus to make it more theologically correct, but really think this is a good song....

Who dunit better? Fender Twin-ish tones
มุมมอง 15621 วันที่ผ่านมา
So, this is the first in a series I'm planning testing out similar tones between the Helix, Tonex and the Opus/Genome software to see who we think did a better job of each amp model/ capture tone. This one is the Fender Twin sort of sound: clean, clean with an overdrive pedal and with the gain dimed. I used the same playthrough, and the same IR for each set of tests, with just a little verb add...

Love that tone
What the heck? You got all the cool instruments
I like it
:)
Cool man
appreciate it man.
Nice playing and tone! 🎸💪
Thanks a lot!
I'd use (more) spring reverb and slapback delay and tremolo and stuff to make it even more vibey
That would have been good too... I didn't want to mess with it too much though... It was making me feel kind of inspired right where it was, know what I mean?
Nice
Thanks
Amazing! Thank you
Thanks!
Good idea and well played! Unfortunately for us TH-camrs all sounds similar because of the TH-cam compression…
True enough ..
Have a Merry Christmas!!!!
I hope you did too!
Yep #2 is my issue...been on my heart to do this not play as much
Yep. It's harder sometimes to "not" play..
Cool song man
Thanks Rich! Hope you had a good Christmas brotha
II use input trim at -3.5, and for hi gain I use the Gain knob of the Tone model around 8 , just that easy. And an external Boost dist drive pedal
It is definitely something you need to dial in for your guitar/ playing style.
@@RyanWright no, No matter your playing style. ... I got the tonex a year and a half ago, and dealing with input trim for a long time, +8 , 0, +12 , adding an external drive/boost, pedal etc etc I following a guy Jason Sadites on youtube, he make a lot of videos for Tonex, and lot for input trim, BUT he makes a video like 5-6 months ago that explain what I told you. So, I try it and works great. input trim on between -3 and -4 , will give be super clean sound, on the Tonex Pedal or sowftare just use only the Gain Knob, if you have it at 5 will like not adding extra db, if you dial the know to 6 will be like adding +3db of inpit trim to your tone, if you dial to 7 will be like adding 6db, 8 will be like adding 8db , there is a chart Jason do it. works great for me. You easy match the sample of the tone you Download. No matteryouru playing style.
I have watched his videos, and his -3 to -4 on the trim thing is what he says he does his captures at, not necessarily a hard and fast universal rule. He has also said multiple times that you need to put the input trim where it sounds good and sounds like you want it to. And the gain knob doesn't really work if you just want more volume without more gain. Appreciate your thoughts and all, but it is a subjective thing that depends on what capture you are running, and how hot the level is from your guitar. If your guitar is pretty hot, you might need to put it lower than if you use a guitar with weaker pickups and less output.
@@RyanWright First you dont see the right video of Jason Sadites. Second... whatever, is something that takes 5 minutes to check, keep suffering bro.
That's a cool jam man. Looks good, new camera.
I'm digging it so far. lol :)
Happy Sunday my friend,, sounds soothing thank you
Thanks bud

Thanks man. Hope you had a good one too!
Great jam pops
Thanks, I guess.... lol
Im from sc also. near cola.
Sweet. I grew up in West Cola.
Sounding Great! Glad to hear OPUS is working out well for you! :)
The thing is killer. The DynIRs are awesome, and getting to mix and match all the options for the amp tones is crazy good too. Now, I'm just waiting for the OPUS plus (or whatever ya'll call it) that would basically be Genome in a box. :)
@@RyanWright Amazing! So pleased to hear this!
That sounds Awesome man
Thanks bud!
Cool jam man
appreciate it Rich! How you doing man?
Doing good. Still slinging pizzas and delivering them.. That bass sounds rad.
I just purchased this! Glad to find your video 😊

Giving a view and a like for my SC homeboy

It's in Dm, the saddest of all keys... What's it called?
lol! Great movie. Need to watch it again.
@RyanWright I think it's mandatory for musicians to watch it once a year :)
Nice performance! 🎸👍
appreciate it. THanks!
Cool jam man. How you been? How's the family?
Doing good man. Getting along, ya know? How about you?
Good@@RyanWright
Sounds good brother. You always got that sweet sounding tone.
Don't know about the always part, but I really was digging how this particular tone was sounding, so I decided I needed to record it while I could.... lol
Right on Brother,, we will jam together when we meet up in Heaven.. See you soon.
Agreed man. Ya never know.... might find a way to meet up before then... lol
I really enjoyed this correlation!
Thanks!
Woww This is very beautiful my friend! 👏🏼You did an awesome job 😊 (I covered this too btw) 😁
Cool! I had never actually heard of this song before a couple months ago when my wife asked me to do a cover of it for her birthday...
Best gift ever
Glad you like it. :) Enjoy your day off!
b was pod go sounded weak and thin- not in the league as lt
Let me guess, you checked the description beforehand so you biased yourself before you actually listened... Thanks for checking out the video.
I have a Pod Go and hstomp, so perhaps a bit biased....both sound good. Frankly, assuming patches are similar, tone is more affected by the player, guitar, than the preamp....thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
The player and guitar and all do definitely have a big affect on the sound. That is why I set this up the way I did (same performance running through each unit and recorded at the same time) to take the "player" out of the equation, for all intent. The results of this turned out about how I expected.... figured they would largely sound the same. At some point, I'll probably try the same thing with different types of sounds (edge of breakup, clean, ect).
Lack of OUTPUT.. Main Problem. I Use my Pedals to Compensate!! I'm Not a Freak for "UPGRADES". Lol!! I've Other Basses, so I Don't "TRIP"!! OTHERWISE, U Pay for what U GET!!
Talked Too Soon.. U've Got the ACTIVE, (My BAD, Never Mind..)
No problem man. It isn't going to take the place of my main 6 string (Peavey Grind 6), but for $130, I'm pretty happy with it.
That's awesome man.I wish I was there
that'd be cool man
Sweet bass..it looks like that room is made out of instruments
lol. Well, it has a few.
What a great deal, especially with a neck that feels like that.
agreed. Definitely a good time to be a guitar player... lol
Yeah brother jamming
Thanks man
Wat?

Beautiful guitar 🎸 sounds ❤ I really enjoyed watching this video and subscribed ❤ Thank you 😅

Sounds good brother. That tone is awesome sounding
