2022 Rebel 1100 DCT - Gets Coffman Exhaust
มุมมอง 2Kปีที่แล้ว
This is the 2nd exhaust i added. The 1st was an upsweeping pipe from amazon that sounded good but I didn't like the upsweeping pipe. Then i saw the Coffman pipe which has a low profile and is not as intrusive. I actually drilled out the deep baffles with a 1/2 inch drill and added 3 half inch holes and really improved the volume. I love the look and sound now that that's all done!

    Hi Steve, nice job with the mods. Looks great. I just wanted to mention that the slot on your string winder is actually there to remove the pins. Much safer to avoid scratching your guitar.

      I just ordered an all Mahogany American Tele. I was wondering, did your relief in the neck change a lot when you switched from 11's down to 9's without a truss rod adjustment? I play 11's on my Martin guitars but like to play 10's on all my electric guitars, so I may want to try 10's on the Tele. Just curious if you had to make a truss adjustment.

    I removed my bags, but want to reserve the option to remount for longer trips. I'm thinking this low profile Coffman will allow for the remount. Does that sound right?

    Just purchased this as well. You were supposed to remove that gasket so you could easily push the exhaust down to the lip. It usually will just be above the lip for the upper bolt to secure. But it does sound great

    Trick got getting sharpie off a surface. Where there's marker you don't want there, get a paper towel or something ready to wipe quickly making sure you can get the paper towel into whatever nooks and crannies you need to. Get ready, you have to work fast. Mark a small area with sharpie and very quickly wipe it off. I believe there's enough urethane on that neck for this to work. The new sharpie wets the old sharpie and makes it all wet enough to come off clean. It wouldn't work on a Fender neck without urethane or any dull surface. Good luck!

    I upgraded the pickups in my Classic Vibe Starcaster this week. I found a guy (Martin A Smith) who make hand-wound pickups, including Wide Range Humbuckers. It's interesting how different the guitar sound and so much better. The mistake I made, though was ordering Chrome pickups when the other hardware is Nickel (I am clueless and I didn't even think about the the look of the metal. Chrome was default, but I could have selected Nickel from the drop-down). It looks fine I would prefer it if everything matched so now I am thinking about buying a Chrome Bridge for it.

    • @stevebrighttheblackguitar653
      @stevebrighttheblackguitar653 ปีที่แล้ว

      Upgrades and mods are sometimes unpredictable! When buying part I have often failed to read the fine print. Perhaps Martin can swap the chrome housing for nickel. Never hurts to ask. Otherwise move on, the only one who will notice is you!!! Be brave, keep on keepin' on! Good luck. It's your guitar!

    hi Steve cheers and greetings for your video and job sharing! 🙂what is the lowest action you think is possible to obtain on it? i used to play comfortable my "jazzy chords" in the middle of freatboard, the best action i got it from my TAylor Big baby (1mm) without buzz, not a great guitar but decent sound and good for live. What you think is possible to obtain at less on that HB? thanks a lot bug hug!

    • @stevebrighttheblackguitar653
      @stevebrighttheblackguitar653 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for viewing and commenting. I don't go by a specific number for action. It varies on string size and how hard your playing style is. First get the neck straight and then move on from there. Buzz is the secret word here. If you get buzz your too low. Sometime just a little neck adjustment will do the trick. It's your guitar, tweak it!!! Good luck, happy picking!
