Yes! As we identify with the little self - the mind and body - we will never be free. But when we identify as our true nature, which is Pure Consciousness, we can realize that we were never in bondage. We don't even need to worry about karma and reincarnation because they're just plot for the movie. The true Self is never born and never dies. It's just watching the show.

I met Sam in Minneapolis at a Sai Baba satsang around 2000. I had made the journey to Prashanthi Nilayam. I did hear stories also of Dr. George. Sam had an informal bhajan and devotional singing group that met monthly for several years. I so enjoyed his joy and energy!!! Bought his book recently. Such a lovely man. Thought of him today when speaking with my friend, a yogananda disciple. I never got to thank him for beauty and gift after learning today that Sam merged with the Divine. I will cherish even more the CD he gave me and the book.
