I worked in high fashion for a while, (started in the 1970s), then in the music biz from mid 80s. What was on stage, on the runway, or in Vogue usually freaked men, (the ones not actually in fashion), right out. When i dressed high fashion, especially on my nights out with my gfs, one of whom was a dressmaking savant (she would copy runway outfits and shock our city), men ran away a lot. When we dressed 'normal' (catering to male tastes), they'd flock round. (Yes, men in the olden days were as scared of strong confident women as they are today.) Great range of examples of how to modify outfits in the vid. Would say, the nearly to the knee length rarely flatters most legs, shorter or longer often looks better. Models are generally leggy, skinny creatures, legs much longer than average, and they may look fine, but it may not suit anyone with normal proportions. Also, depending on weather, if you put something like white or pale tights (i mean with feet in, like pantyhose, NOT the shiny skintight pants you might wear for workouts), with your ruffled white bloomers, you won't feel so nekkid. 😊 You can still pop lacy top socks over. Enjoyed this guide to a look, would add, go ahead and wear it. I'm 60+ and i wouldn't, but anyone under 50 should be able to pull it off. ❤

I have the Vampira gown and am yet to wear it! It's freezing in Melbourne so thanks for the reminder to wear it soon. I host the door at an all night goth club and I always wear La Femme pieces, what else? Was going to go out tonight and wear my black Art Deco Gown but it's too cold to get off the couch. I've had my eye on that belladonna dress for a while. Everything looks amazing on you! I think you should absolutely go for a walk in the park in that Crimson Peak Dress. Thanks for the vid!

I really appreciate this review as I’ve been super curious. I’m not the size 4 you always see modeling them on Insta etc. and I’m a busty gal so I’ve wanted to see it on a real body. So thanks! I can’t see how the black strap is stitched to the dress but that should be a very simple alteration with a seam ripper and restitch to a longer length so it goes under the bust properly. If you can’t do it, any seamstress totally could and shouldn’t cost much. Seems worth it to not be futzing with it all the time.
