what motor do these use. It sounds a bit like the GEC motor out of an old hotpoint 18 series

how come some of the WM range come with the 95 style timer and others dont? Edit: my gran has a wm31 in brown and her timer / tumbles / spins are different to this. yours has the old school hotpoint 'roar' and violent with the spin, hers is much softer and more gradual spins.

Why doesn't spin at first rinse

This seems like its got a much worse build quality than the 9534, i never saw mine vibrating and bouncing around like this one does.

When did the New Generation Hotpoints come out?

Please help! I have a Siemens iq500 and I can’t figure out how to shorten the wash time to one hour instead of 2 hours It has an options button. I can see there is a symbol for Flex Time short medium long. I know how to select this symbol but then what? Option Flex Time then select but nothing changes. My previous machine had a speed button ri reduce time in cotton but I can’t figure this out. I i know there are shorter cycles for colder wash but I’m talking about cotton wash 60 degrees C Thanks

My brother had this one...in it's latter years it made a sound very like an electric razor when operating. He had it for about nine years however before it finally gave up the ghost.

Wow the memories, my mums friend had one very similar to this, (I don't know model) just the sound of it brings back memories. even now when I bump into her nearly 30 years later I still think back to this machine. I love these old faithfull GEC hotpoint washer dryers

The Hoover engineer who used to Come out to my one of these always said that the 1400 and 1500rpm models always spun closer to 1700-1800rpm I miss mine

I had the same many many years ago and I loved it, it washed and rinsed so well. Unfortunately we had the hoover engineer out 74 times in 14 months as it kept breaking down, it was replaced by hoover 7 times in the end, the PC boards kept blowing, the taco used die, the pumps used to die and the heaters used to die, it was a shame because when it worked it was an awesome machine, in the end Hoover gave me my money back and we went the bought the Hoover Quattro easilogic 1400, it was a good machine with its power jet and double speed drum rotation and the thermal rinse and A rated wash, whereas the New wave +5 was only C rated wash performance, I think the New wave was a much better machine.

Bit late for comment mate, my family had all these Hotpoints back in 80s 90s. I know my mother and father had Washer dryer 90 something series back in there flat during 80s. My mum had the models exactly same as those machines on here mate especially in a middle which is WM31 but in brown, then she had WM63 on a left which was in silver, my dad had either Hotpoint WM41 or WM43 a Microprofile programming from mid 90s maybe when i live with him you know i remember my nan had an old late 70s Hotpoint Twin Tub before she had Hotpoint 95 something series in Brown with child lock i remember when i broke the locker so it cost her £20 replacement 😂😂

This brings back memories since I had my 1983 variable spin. Since I moved high Wycombe in 1989. Same process, same program! Love it!❤❤😮😮

It's not about the weight but the balance, and randomly throwing in lotsa items ironically kept it balanced and thereby prevented its total destruction, and even when it was unbalanced there was too much weight to get it up to speed; it's certainly nothing to do with build quality as some are saying.
