Oh wow... it was only a dream, lol. Yes, there are some women who are easily influenced by what they see on social media. Also, they may feel as though they should attempt to live the same lifestyle especially if they have colleagues who appear to live similar lifestyles as what's portrayed on social media like the other secretary at her job for example. But I think the dream also gives a message for us to focus on improving in areas of our lives for the better and for our own personal growth and wellbeing, not in order to live a life to mimic what is seen on social media or out of envy or for the preference of others.

It's just so unfortunate that it's perpetuated that dark skin is not beautiful or desired by men. Also, it is strange how a man would date a dark-skinned woman but then encourage her to use skin lightening substances. If he wants someone of a lighter skin tone, simply seek that particular type of woman. Why waste her time and be with her only to put her down for being what she naturally is? As for the mother and her color complex, that is her own problem and her's alone. Apparently her son prefers a woman beyond her outer appearance being that he has dated women that were lighter shades but engaged a woman who has dark skin. Character goes a long way because no matter how beautiful a woman is, if she doesn't manage to capture the man's heart or have good character it's irrelevant to how beautiful she is whatever her complexion may be.
