Caught a bunch of bass with a chatterbait on straight 40lb braid with an 8:5 reel! Not you ideal chatterbait setup, but they were destroying it tonight!

Just found your channel from the last "how to fish a whopper plopper" video and then though I'm from Washington I'm still loving and channel already, new sub!
What's best for sunny skies in a pond with lots of weeds and still pretty low water temperatures?
I’ve had good luck with the Chatterbait Evo 3/8oz with a 3.25” rage swimmer as a trailer. As long as the weeds are not so bad that you get hung up on them. If they are really bad you may try a Texas rigged worm or something topwater once the water heats up a little.
@@FishermanFred2023 thank you
That reel sounds sweet
Curado DC! It’s a fun one!
That is a cool lure. Is that a Okuma reel ?
It’s an Abu Garcia Zata. A great reel.
Cap
It's an opinion/ personal preference bro
I've got an SLX DC in the 8.2 and it's fun to be able to jerk a bait just by reeling a little quicker.
Oh yeah for sure! Those SLX DC’s are fantastic reels. I love the high speed for stuff like that. Great for frogs too! Thanks for watching!
Love this advice
Thanks and thanks for watching!
😂
🔥🔥
Good one
And I agree I have that rod
Part of the carp family and very invasive.
Why the FUCK did you put it back?!?!? THEY'RE AN INVASIVE SPECIES YOU LUGNUT!
Noooo lol those things are invasive as heck lol
2 years ago I caught a bream on a micro spoon 😂
If you fish enough, you’ll get some surprises every now and then! I caught a few small channel cats on whopper ploppers last year. That was interesting.
@@FishermanFred2023I caught sum on a miniature jig tipped with a wax worm THRU THE ICE. Thought I would never see the day
@@Johnnyonthespot1 wow! I bet that was fun! Thanks for watching!
Shouldn’t have released it.
No... don't put it back in 😮
I had to look them up, apparently they’re pretty bad to have in a pond. It’s in a neighborhood so I bet people threw them in over the years.
You might want to tale that out!
Don't put those back, they are extremely invasive and destroy native species
Yeah I’d guess people put them in there. I’ve seen a few but never actually caught one myself.
Зачем ты леску намотала не плетёнку
I use this one for underwater lures so I wanted a clear monofilament line. I generally use braided line for topwater water lures or for heavy underwater, such as a large jigs. Thanks for watching!
Let me catch some fish.❤
How many baht did you spend?
Great bait. Works good for redfish down here on the coast too. Been looking for the Zman knock off, suppose to last a lot longer.
I haven’t heard of those but I’ll have to check them out. I’ve tried the Berkley Agent E they were not too bad, but I like the Dark Sleeper better.
Get a white one with a red eye swear by it lol
I need to try that combo! Bass love white lures at my ponds!
*First cast* Birds nest hahaha
Oh no! Working great haha. I’m always a bit cautious on the first few casts. Thanks for watching.
The Dark sleeper just flat out works and can be fished so many different ways.
It sure seems to! I’m using the 3/8oz one and it doesn’t fall too quickly. Which is perfect for the shallow ponds I fish.
вчера купил такую)
Excellent! I hope you enjoy it! отличный! Я надеюсь, вам понравится это. Спасибо за просмотр! Я не говорю по-русски, поэтому надеюсь, что перевод получится точным!
that’s a biggiin 😅
I did end up catching one more after I took that video. It wasn’t much better though! Oh well, at least I did not end on a zero!
Sorry about the audio. This iPhone changes audio lvl when zoomed in!
I love the sounds
I’ve always loved this sound!! Brings back good feelings!
