FM synthesis is a severe addiction for me. I should probably compile and share some packs of my patches. I've probably gotten surprisingly close to making every possible type of sound on the Sega Genesis lmao.
I hate transcribing music so much it drives me insane, yet sometimes I still (try to) do it. *Looks over at massive pile of barely started covers I've given up on less than 15 seconds into* Playing the same bit of music over and over again as I attempt to discern each note is torture. There's a reason why I've only completed like... less than 10 covers despite starting so many lol.
Nice tune! I haven't spent very much time with the wavetable chips in Furnace, I mainly do FM stuff. I need to try them out again.

I'd put some light static from the square waves in the background to emulate the sound of a fan, and oscillate the hum's frequency a bit. You're aiming for a 60hz sound since that's the frequency of the electricity powering the magnetron and motors, and it should surge up and down 5-10hz at regular intervals.

Sounds like Special Stage from the Sonic OST but mixed with a few others on that game. The FM synth/Genesis-y (Genesee?) tones obvs help with that too lol Sounds dope though I really dig it.
How did you write that song down after waking up, without forgetting it while in the act of reconstructing?
@RoBoyReviews I first heard this dream song MONTHS ago, so I don't know how I didn't forget it >_>. The things that stuck out the most to me were the melody, bassline, and the drums. Guess my brain kept it for safekeeping...
