On this quick weekend trip we camped just outside of Boulder, Colorado in one of our favorite close by spots. It was a fun, stormy little trip. Follow me! Instagram: newnewchris TH-cam: th-cam.com/channels/b6XiCnEUNKoSF49rz6DBZw.html Prints: newnewchris.darkroom.tech/
Ignik Gas Growler Deluxe; it's not defective! AND how to get one for $45-ish.
มุมมอง 9932 หลายเดือนก่อน
Don't worry, your Gas Growler isn't broken! Here's why it won't fill. Also, here's how I scored mine for really cheap, and you might be able to as well! Disclaimers: Don't quote me on Ignik's upcoming fix, I read a lot of articles about product and it all blurs together, but I definitely remember reading about it recently. Also, $45 for a used one of these isn't guaranteed. REI prices their use...

Picked up two nearly new in clearance. Marked down to $30.83. Mgr gave additional 40% off. Then cashier gave additional 20% off. $9.83 for each one!! lol
Wish I seen this an hour ago while Tractor supply tried twice to purge and fill my new tank 😂
Sorry to hear that! If the thump on the ground fix doesn’t work, don’t lose hope. Ignik apparently called back old stock of gas growlers from some retailers. I’m betting a voluntary recall for customers is coming soon. Seems like the newer retail stock already has a fix implemented.
@@NewNewChris I just bought one at Bass Pro, any way to tell what model we have?
@Jaypher not sure unfortunately. We pulled all of ours off the sales floor yesterday. I bet if you reached out to Ignik they would have a way to tell you.
@@NewNewChris I bled mine last night via a griddle for 20 minutes and took it back to Tractor supply today. They tried filling it slowly, still wouldn’t take any gas. Then I banged it on the concrete to try to free the float with no luck trying to refill it again. Ignik also doesn’t want to respond to my email or Instagram tags 🤣.
@@NewNewChris Ignik finally emailed me back today and said it’s known issue they’re working to fix.
I love REI Re/Supply, you can score some amazing deals
Heck yeah. Just snagged an unused kelty awning there for cheap because the bag ripped.
Bro. Suffer through about a week of dry sinuses and poor sleep and your body will adapt to no humidifier. You'll be fine and you will never have to deal with the hassle on the humidifier. Trust me.
It’s become a non issue for me ever since I installed a 100 amp hour dual battery system in the truck. I can run whatever settings I want and never have to think about power.
Wyoming looks peaceful
It’s pretty friggin great man.
Love your videos. Keep ‘em coming
Thanks a lot I really appreciate it!
Sanitizing a tripod?! Well blow me down….
This was back when they weren’t totally sure what caused Covid to spread. We also had to wear gloves inside every property and weren’t allowed to touch light switches. Wild times.
Not a fan of the mic.
Thanks for the feedback. I found some different settings which should make it work a lot better.
Where in Colorado?
This is out near Crested Butte
I’ve been to four different places trying to get the damn thing filled. Told them to go slow and still no luck. Very unimpressed with Ignik. Seems like even a modicum of QA testing would have revealed this issue
Sorry to hear that. Did you try resetting with the thud method? Still haven’t had any issues with mine. I’d be surprised if there isn’t some kind of a recall soon.
I agree with keeping the dog on a leash most of the time. You are a responsible owner. Thanks for sharing your adventure there!
Glad you enjoyed it!!!
Ignik should be embarrassed. Worst design of all times. They should provide a 100% refund no questions asked. Having to jump through hoops top get a refund. DO NOT buy this unit
Yeah they’re going to have to fix this asap since so many people have had issues. My guess is they put an opd safety device from a full size unit onto the smaller can without thinking of the issues it would cause. This is why I only buy from places with a satisfaction guarantee, no hoops to jump through with returns.
Hmm helpful info. I thought it was me. I didn't return it though
Sounds like the slow filling method and smacking it on the ground are hit or miss for effectiveness. I’ll make a follow up if I have any issues with mine but so far so good. My guess is ignik is going to hopefully do some kind of voluntary recall soon.
@NewNewChris I'm not mad at a free fix/ replacement lol. Is there going to be an announcement or do I need to register my tank?
@WheelsAndHelmets I’m not sure to be honest. Those of us on the retail side of the industry will get some kind of info at some point I’ve been told. No eta. I’ll for sure be doing an update whenever that happens though.
@NewNewChris no problem. I did a Google search and it looks like we can register products on the ignik website
@WheelsAndHelmets probably the best way to go then. I may do the same soon.
I've camped there a few times. Great views and good bike riding. Always afraid it's going to get overused.
It’s for sure getting loved to death. Too many broken glass bottles and rusty nails from people burning pallet wood. Worth it for the views though.
One of those REI returns is mine. Made 3 attempts to fill the damn thing, including to "the guy who definitely knows how to fill them" 22 miles away. Tried everything, including alerting the filler it might be tricky, and the drop trick. Complete fail. $45 not a great deal for a doorstop... this is a product problem, not a customer problem, and they should fix it immediately or pull it from the market.
They have a fix incoming soon. What will likely happen is they’ll do some kind of recall. That would be my guess based on how many issues they’re having with it.
my favorite spot i been there so many times
It’s a great little spot!
Good tip on the silica packets!
It’s a real game changer!
❤
to think this will all be the ocean floor once again.
Beautiful thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Вот бы посидеть вечером, перед костром, под таким красивым ночным небом 🌃🌌
Damn, homegirl came thru. With that pop. Nice!
I like your "leave a trace" philosophy. Your vids make me want to camp so badly.
Thanks dude!!! Get out there and camp. And if you ever find yourself in Colorado just hit Matt and myself up we’d be psyched to do an outing.
@@NewNewChris Hells yeah. And I’ll try to tell them to keep the smoke down here in WA btw, sorry it’s making its way over there. 😆
@geebes2112 🤣 it’s all good man we just had 4 wildfires in 1 week. At this point it’s unavoidable.
winter camping szn soon!
Definitely going to need a diesel heater this winter.
Great video of your trip. I noticed lots of the equipment we used last year, you have made camping a science. I can't wait to go camping with you guys again. I almost want to try SPAM again. Almost.
I’ll for sure bring the screen room this next time, but it has so many holes it almost doesn’t work anymore. I bet we can figure out some spam recipes!
Dude, makes me want to go camping so bad (and to get a sweet ass setup like you have). 😊
Dooooooo itttttttttt. Even if you don’t have the sweet ass setup, dooooooo itttttttt.
Colon lubricant… and eggy farts
I strive for high brow content around here.

Especially when paired with the right meats and cheeses.
Beautiful nature!!
Thank you!!!
Unbelievable!
Hahaha we can’t believe we got away with it.
Great video, it was like I got to be there with you guys.
I’m glad you liked it!!!
Thinking of using ours this weekend. We just evacuated( last night) from Park fire here in California. Ughhhh! Looks fun and quiet. We are thinking to go hide at crater lake lassen park. TBD
Sorry to hear about the evac! Sounds like some relaxing nature may help though.
Normal ppl: wow thats so beautiful Halo fans: *start rocking out*
Very Helpful, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have the Eco River Max 2 just purchased. I have no idea the watts with my Cpap is? How do I find out? And where do I get this connection thing you talk about? I can’t sleep without my cpap so, I purchased this Eco thing for power outage with the solar panel. I don’t think I have a cord long enough to use the solar panel and keep the battery in the shade at the same time and I don’t know how to buy a cord? I know I don’t know very much, help? I looked on my cpap for the wattage it’s no where? It’s a Phillips
These devices tend to draw different amounts of wattage as they run and it varies depending on settings so the easiest way is to plug the power chord into your ecoflow and run the device. As it runs, look at the battery display and pay attention to the watts being used. Take the highest wattage it shows and assume it will draw that many watts per hour. That’s a very rough estimate but it will get you by enough to do some power need calculations. The dc connector I use is proprietary to my brand and model, so you’ll have to do some research to find what dc plug will work with your Phillips cpap as I don’t own one so I don’t know specifics. For solar panel cables, that will also depend on what type of solar panel you have and what connectors it uses. Most use an mc4 connector. The instruction manual should list that. Once you find that out, get that type of connector on one side of the cable and on the other side make sure it has an xt60 or xt60i connector, as that’s what the Ecoflow brand uses. I’d recommend xt60i as it can push more power into your battery. Amazon has lots of cable options. Hope this helps!
Exactly the video I was looking for!! I have a question. Did yoy run your CPAP in this test, with the heatwr and humidifier on, and at what settings??
I ran it at my full “at home” settings, so humidifier and heated tube on. I don’t remember exactly set at what but I believe my humidifier is currently set to 70 degrees.
Haha I’m glad you kept your promise and posted!. This video was awesome. Thanks for making my birthday special 🥹
So rusty but it’s good to be back at it. I hope you enjoyed the gas station cupcakes. 🤣

Well done, now if I die in the wilderness, it will be because of a large animal attack instead of smothering in my sleep.
Next video: how to use your cpap as a bear defense.
“Take 15. Good morning everyone ” cracked me up for some reason 😂
The best version of this was shot on manual focus and completely blurry. Forgot to put af back on after shooting astro the night before. 🤣
Thank you so much. I love gear video wading but I also have to chose at some point. Me and B&H thanks you 😅
I hope you snagged the tripod and are enjoying it!
River Pro has a max capacity of 720Wh. CPAP typically draws about 65W per hour. So, 720Wh x 85% (DC-AC conversion efficiency) - (65W x 7 hours) => 612Wh - 455Wh => 157Wh remaining, or (157Wh/720Wh) about 21% remaining. Sounds about right.
Hello i have question regarding CPAP I always worried about using CPAP if i want camping . I didn't find the good generator that i can sleep full night due to the battery. And today i searched on google and i got ecoflow pro but i don't know if it enough for two night or three my CPAP is Fhilips dream station and its watt 80. Please help 😢
@@N-305 If your CPAP draws 80W per hour, it'll use at least 560W in 7 hours of sleep. So for 3 days, it'll need at least 1.6kWh (560W x 3). The EcoFlow Delta Pro is rated at 3.6kWh, which should provide more than enough juice to run the CPAP for 6 days!
@@N-305if you turn off your heater and humidifier settings you will be able to run the CPAP for much much longer. Just a word of caution, it’ll make your mouth/throat really dry and your throat can literally stick to itself almost defeating the purpose of using the cpap machine, but it can get your through a couple of nights in a pinch.
To add to this, if you camp in a warm climate where it doesn’t get too cold at night, leaving the humidifier on but turning off the heated tube saves a ton of power as well. Caution though, if it gets very cold at night and the tube is off, water droplets will form in the tube and blast them in your face. Not particularly fun.
If there is a dc power supply for that device, that will help a lot with power draw, as inverting dc to ac loses some efficiency. You may be able to get away with a smaller battery. The rest of the comments on here also have very sound advice. Good luck!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hey Chris, how is your strap holding up with those peak design anchors?
Hey! It’s holding up great but honestly I never use the thing anymore since 95% of the time I’m on a tripod. I really prefer the peak design strap as my go to since it’s so adjustable and comfortable.
Good job man, really helpful
Hey thanks a lot!!
Only @ 2:00 and I understand every point you made lol. I'm really sick of opening 3 sections per leg
Oh it’s the worst haha.
You pick the best music for the vlogs lol. Gets me hype!
Haha thanks man. And I thought I was slacking with this one. 🤣
You can hear the sand in your voice after the first night lmao…
Great times man! We gotta get out there soon. I want to upgrade to 35” soon.
Bro I could taste it. 🤣
