Bruce you’re a true inspiration as I can relate to the story of your life. Photography makes me laugh too …it takes away some of that hurt
Love you Bruce but if you’d go to Gaza, as a Jew, you would be berried in Gaza on the same day.
What are you talking about?
you good?
lol you ignorant folk
Very inspiring, such a legend!!
You're a great talker Bruce. Your confidence and no nonsense way is inspiring.
Youre the fucking man Bruce!
This was excellent. Thank you.
I can't beleive I've never seen these pictures before Bruce! So good!
Very poor camera work ... unbelievable ...
goes to channel... and... nevermind..
This was the best BG interview ive seen so far. Great job Max.
This could have been so much better. We wanted to see his photos, but all we got was the corner of a picture, for nearly an hour. Waste of time. All they had to do was move the camera out front, and we could have seen it all. Instead, someone who had no idea, stuck it on some funny angle and ruined the whole show.
Yes, the angle could have been improved, no doubt, but it was the only real option we had, so better than nothing 😀 As for the images in the background... there were about 30 of them on a loop. If you want to see Bruce talk about those more in depth, you can watch his Bruce Gilden Annotated playlist.
If I were an ideologue with a cause, I would not allow the guy to talk like that about ideologues with a cause.
BG doesn’t need a host. Give him a mic, ask questions, let him do his magic.
Bruce at His best.
An obvious question is how his traumatic childhood affected his photography
finally someone with better stories than bruce 😛
bruce my mother ws a prositute drove my vetern master sgt. n. korea tto a eariy grave 48 yearold
This just showed up on my feed, glad I caught it!
Keep it up Bruce, you are an inspiration!
Legend. Im so happy u got your own channel Mr Gilden. U r keep inspiring me everyday
I have never heard that explanation of cutting figures off in the frame like that before. It’s generally something I’ve always tried to avoid if I could. You often hear the advice to watch the edges, keep the edges clean, etc etc. So to hear a rationale for doing this is fascinating. Thank you Bruce! I hear you’ve been in Bogotá… looking forward to seeing those pictures.
A master of patter.
I can‘t no more hahaha flash is available light because flash is available!
Bruce- they should build a hollywoood in HaIITI. Digital is cheap and Actors make something out of nothing. Same for Models, Musicians and athletes.
Love the photos and anecdotes !!!
It seems like you're shooting digital. Good videos, thanks for sharing, master Bruce!
I've never liked the close-up in your face flash pictures, but the rest of your work is so interesting and I really like how you make your reviews and analysis of those powerful images. Love the videos! Greetings from Lima-Peru!
Never heard of Bruce Gilden before until recently. And damn, this man is pure talent and surprisingly relatable.
Bruce Gilden, such an evil genius and god like figure, that you're not allowed to look upon his face.
Inspired❤❤❤❤thanks and congrats from aegina island greece
More and longer please !
Love it when you analyze why pictures work. Thank you! 🤩
i get so lost in these videos, thank you so much for doing them. This is some of your strongest work ive ever seen! its really breathtaking.
Great work.
I appreciate your straight talk about your work / photography... There's so much boring nonsense relating to photography on the internet
What’s your explanation to the prospective subject why you want to make a photo? How do you approach that question?
With two ex wives and a long term gf myself… I laughed out loud when he talked about being a good judge of character. 😂
Finally, one of my favorite master photographers, Bruce Gilden, has released some great videos to inspire and teach. I will soon open my own photography and meditation channel on TH-cam and one of the contents is inspired by "Take It or Leave It with Bruce Gilden" from the Vice channel. Thank you Bruce Gilden for inspiring me and so many photographers in the world. You are the "Bruce Picasso" of photography, you seem like a really cool guy. I admire the affection you have for the “real-life characters” you photograph! I would love to see your work done in China Town and in "Cracolândia" at São Paulo. You must come to Brazil dude! 🇧🇷
this is dark enough to make a street photography yuppie quit.
Utmost respect…
Thanks for this, but I miss hearing the composition ideas of the other videos
You’re probably the only person who’s ever spoken with these women and not spoken at them. A person could never get photographs like this cowering behind a big ass lens from across the street.
Dammit, this is truthful.
interesting self-portrait of you too - can you talk about your relationship to photographer then and especially now? / and interesting that Sophie like those pictures of women too - i love the back stories especially the woman with the dollar signs - did you ever shoot the French clochardes - my French girlfirend told me that the clochardes were not bums they had made a decision not to be part of society which i thought was insightful - i grew up in mad-hattan when the bums were not only the brooklyn dodgers too - love these last Annotated series too
So powerful!
facts
Great photos Bruce, to me you are the best street photographer. Always like your photos, and stories behind them.
Utmost respect for the empathy you show to the people that otherwise would be discarded, forgotten and passed by.
