Your review is spot on. at the half way mark I still felt like I didn't know what was going on.the real victim was cat jones and her family. I for brief second figure who the killer was but second guessed myself, there was so much going on. I was really confused by Jack living with sister lol I didn't pick up on that one until they said it but even then it made me feel even like Jack and Anna was both crazy like that was the proof. Bc Anna acted like she was jealous of his sister and niece.Honestly I finished the book bc I figured it was going to take a turn that would so good but it didn't really

I just finished reading it today and I felt like there were lots of questions and gaps with the rapid twist at the ending...like why did Grace choose to go to that particular airbnb (???), why Calvin (???), what were the connectors (???)...I was so confused by the "rapid fire romance" as well...very unrealistic...it was a strange book with strange characters (Joe, Uncle Albert (what was his purpose in the book??), Charlotte, Wyatt...just a strange bunch of characters thrown together in a psychological thriller). This was my least favorite Jeneva Rose books.

I thought maybe she somehow found out about all the missing women and was doing some vigilante justice but the author never gave us any indication why someone (spoiler ahead) with a whole family at home would do any of that!!! I enjoyed the last 15 % oft the book and it made me change my thoughts on the characters and the whole plot (btw, I love what happens to the money). great review! i just finished this book today and i always search for reviews after i finish a read. this book was great for me as it got me to not want to put it down. i would find myself at work wondering what the next chapter would bring but it only got to that point after a good ways into the book. the beginning was so boring to me and their romantic fling was disgusting to me because i was infuriated that grace kept ignoring the red flags calvin gave off. the final twist was completely off for me and it felt like a quick way to end off the book but i will say i like that it resolved the mystery of why everyone in the town treated her like an outsider. throughout the whole book i was confused why everyone was so pressed that a woman would take a vacation alone as if that’s something that’s strange and odd but they could read that she had a lot of red flags herself. i wish that there were more subtle hints about how grace herself was dark and twisted. it really wasn’t a bad book but after i finished it i was upset with the ending and woulda rated it 2 stars, now after giving it some more thought after your review i’ll give it a 3 🤣

*Spoiler-ish thoughts ahead!!* . . . . . . I really liked this one and read it in about 3 long sessions. The character development portion in the first third or so was long enough to invest me in them, but not long enough to feel drawn out. I knew something would eventually get twisty, and the one first “twist” moment just before the first perspective change was enough to buy me into the suspense. I wanted to know what the truth was, and it picked up the stakes big time. I loved the retelling of the “other side” of the coin. It added depth without being too repetitive. The ending felt very “Shawshank redemption” and was very satisfying. I like a thriller with a darker ending, but this one was a refreshing change.
