Another solution would be to list a language by only it's name (for example: English), and then have a drop-down menu with flags of the nations the dialects are spoken. (American English, British English, etc.) *Although this doesn't solve every problem listed in the video and creates a new issue of "What counts as a language/dialect?" which is a whole new boiling pot.

This mainly effects the Anglo-Portuguese alliance specifically Portugal why? Brazil has a bigger population ok then why not do Mexico for Spain. Can't say Spain represents Spanish that logic should make Portugal represent Portugal. My issue is cherry picking it's unfair that only Portugal is affected by this.

Where do these languages come from? It shouldn't be complicated.

This is from a Pakistani born in Lahore. Something about the 8% Urdu speaking rate in Pakistan. Usually children are taught the local dialect and Urdu. They are also later taught English through school. I have met very few people in Pakistan who don’t speak either Urdu or English.
