Quite enlightening, the idea that Aleander agreed with many of Luther's concerns but felt compelled to go the other way and then the personal conflict that develops. I find myself wondering if there was more in that interview that was not included in this post that might have added understanding to this situation

This must be the movie of "younger brothers": in it you have not only Jonathan Firth, younger brother of Colin, but also Joseph Fiennes, younger brother of Ralph.

Wow, he seems quite soft-spoken, even more so than his brother, Colin. LUTHER is a beautiful movie in every respect: acting, visuals, emotion -- everything.

Jonathan Firth has such an elegant presence in this role. He looks great in the costumes.

as much as I like Jonathan Firth, the whole cast s acting is quite poor, except for Jonathan s :). I much prefer the newer version of Ideal Husband.

Interesting to see Firth as Goring acting opposite the actress playing Gertrude here when in BBC's adaptation of Middlemarch they played brother and sister Fred and Rosamund Vincy
