Amalgamated Pest Control in the ad at the beginning well and truly needed to update its advertised phone number given Queensland on November 10 in 1997 had changed the format of the phone number - adding a 2-digit prefix to the existing six digit phone number as New South Wales did in 1994. Looked it up earlier, the business still uses the phone number to this day. I remember the change as I would ring relatives as a 5 year old and had the numbers memorised and couldn’t understand why all of a sudden the extra 2 digits had to be dialled at the beginning.
