bel-air bandits : The Bel Air Bandits was formed in the early 1980's and served as the back-up band for Jan and Dean. Various members came and went from the group over the years. John Cowsill was one of those. John was a part of the band from 1983-1988, when he left to anchor the reformed Cowsills. During John's time with the band, in December 1986, they became the first American rock-n-roll ac...

The two most soft-spoken men who ever lived in an interview… Carl Wilson and Whispering Bob Harris. If only they could have gotten Bob Ross to join them, it would’ve made for the most soothing interview of all time.
Carl brought joy to so many and still does…..easy journey.
Whispering Bob + Carl Wilson = the most peaceful interview ever
All they needed was for Bob Ross to join them, and this would have made for the most soothing interview ever.
He seems so sad.
This was done at Brother Studios, Santa Monica, so I'm thinking the year might be 1974 or later? Anyway, that backlit stained glass window was what inspired Brian to write "Solar System".
This is Holland year .
Carl Wilson in such a Sweet Kind Gentle Man
The interviewer looks like Mike Love
These brothers have been a gift to the creation of music.
it’s almost trippy to gear Carl talk about Smile back then
Carl was such an eloquant speaker. I love the words he used.
Been to his grave site, moving experience.
I like Carl he's very cool
Thank you for sharing this Dutchie do you also happen to have the whole concert? I also go by Smileysmilebootlegs
I listen to this when I can’t sleep at 2:00 in the morning. Beautiful. 🥰
Their two soft spoken voices together gave off a synergistic calming effect
SMILE at 1:09
What a beautiful man and voice!!❤❤
Never seen this before, the wonderfull Bob Harris interviewing the late great Carl Wilson , a no Brainer watch
Shhhhhh! You will wake the baby.
The only guy who can match the whispery tone of the whisperer. Basically ASMR, not so much an interview
As Mr. WHO?
Sunflower was “a snap”. The standard these guys worked themselves up to was astonishing.
His voice is so soft sweet and tender and kind
Carl's ASMR
Interesting that he said that they didn't want to do anything else for awhile. They may hang tight for a couple of years. Assuming he was talking about recording another album, he was right!
Brian made the right choice appointing Carl as his vice regent. If things had been a little different, Carl could've composed a followup to Smile and taken over as the Genius. Or he could have been the perfect BL character.
It's ridiculous how ASMRy that interview is 😂❤ Both their voices are just so amazingly relaxing
I love Carl so much. Such a calm voice. I could listen to him all day
I could get lost in his eyes. My God
The people running Capitol Records back then must have been the biggest bunch of idiots ever to walk the face of the earth. They are also the knuckleheads who bungled all of the Beatles albums releases. How anyone could listen to Pet Sounds and think it wouldn't be commercially successful is beyond me. Carl sings one of the most beautiful songs ever.
His voice and manner of speaking reminds me of MJ
My beautiful handsome sweetheart and gentle Carl Dean Wilson !!!! God has this angel close to him for sure. You are so missed, I can’t 😔❤️
Those eyes would be enough to drive me into a frenzy! Gorgeous!
He's a dream.... OMG..
I love you
Why was Carl often licking his lips during interviews? Just a nervous habit? Something smokers do? It can't be that the room was dry, as I've noticed it in more than one interview.
I guess it's part of his charm....lol
thirst trapping
Interesting to hear him mention how Brian used "cut and paste" techniques that are now very common with digital editing!
He had such a sweet voice!
Dennis son said he listened to elvis gospel on sundays
Capitol Records was bad for many artists---most notably the two "BEA" bands on the label---the Beatles and the Beach Boys. They made insane demands on some of their bands, like three albums a year, which for the most creative among us, is almost impossible. It's hard enough making ONE album a year, with all the touring necessary to support that one album, let alone THREE! And artistic freedom---forget about it! Captiol records was more about the $$$$ than any other label
You didn't mention how they chopped up and re-sequenced the Beatles UK albums for American release. And how Capitol released a Beach Boys' Greatest Hits album just TWO MONTHS after the Beach Boys released Pet Sounds.
@@aliceborealis Even worse about the "Best of the Beach Boys" is the photos on the cover of the LP show them recording either Pet Sounds or Smile at the time! Very deceptive advertising. No--they weren't recording "Louie, Louie"--they were probably recording "Heroes and Villains"!
Musicians really trusted this soft spoken guy. Carl was mature and experienced beyond his years. Too bad he’s gone.
I dont believe in age numbers as metric of character. Carl is a special soul as is. See how he was here in 1973? This is how is well into the 1980s and 90s.
I want to be part of whatever god of music Carl Wilson and Dennis Wilson and oldest brother Brian Wilson connect so divinely to. If there was a Carl Wilson Strain of legal-rec herb; I’d have that, what a groovy soul. Wisdom and light shines from his being, he was an angel that was able to protect Brian and secure that Brian shares his music to the following generation. Got to see the BeachBoys in the mid 90s with Carl while he was still alive which I’m so glad to have seen even as a kid without full knowledge of the band outside of tertiary awareness, as much as I respect ML and his contribution to the band, it really is hard to argue there is a proper beach boys band without a brother-Wilson present. My top 3 greatest live shows was seeing Brian Wilson and amazing band play the entirety of Pet Sounds in concert. I felt like I was in the presence of a modern Bach.
I don't mean to keep coming on here, but... I noticed Dennis dedicates this, as he says, "to my father, BOTH of them." Dennis always seemed to be spiritual and giving a lot of credit to God and blessing many fans... I noticed that when I would see him in concert, so I wonder, and I can be so wrong, who knows, but I wonder if he's meaning HIS "Father God?" I'd like to think so... It makes me love and respect him even more... 🙏💜
Pops Otto Hinshhe. Billy Hinshe's dad.Died in Dennis arms.
It doesn't take you very long to figure out, when Dennis starts to speak to the audience, just how special he was... And I don't mean special as in perfect and popular... He just had such a beautiful soul and he loved hard... anyone and everything. That was Dennis... He was so sensitive, caring, passionate and giving and strong, yet he wore his heart on his sleeve... There will never, ever be another Dennis Wilson, ever! Rest in Peace sweet Denny... your struggles are now over... Rest in Sweet Peace Our Surfer Boy... 🙏💜🏄🌴🎶
THE QUINTESSENTIAL ASMR VIDEO.
I think its 2 "Whispering Bob Harris " a huge fan of BBs here.
even his speaking voice is angelic,
The stained glass, this is in Brian's house? Or brother studios?
Brother
I so adored Carl what a beautiful human being miss him so much X
He seems so gentle and kind. And such a sweet face.
A baby face.
Are these guys having a whispering contest or what?😂😂
Ha ha! So funny, yeah they’re both just so quiet or the mics are on max so they have to be quiet
Bob Harris was famously known as “Whispering” Bob Harris.
Thinking the same! 😄😄😄
