1. Art of Fighting is really up there. Challenging and great. But I recommend the arcade version that can be played now by anyone on any console or PC. 2. Ah no. Dragon Ball fighting games never deliver anything beyond being Dragon Ball licenses. 3. Fatal Fury. Good call. But in terms of console versions the Genesis version is better. And overall like Art of Fighting everyone can play the arcade version now. 4. same as no.3. go for the arcade version that has nothing missing when compared to the SNES version. 5. Not really that good to be mentioned. One of the dime-a-dozen titles every game company tried to push on. 6. The only other fighting game with digitized graphics that did a good job building its own identity and fanbase and for not being a straight MK clone. This is a timeless classic among others. 7. Has some potential. 8. Of course one of the all-time greats. 9. The sequel to MKII. Not only bloodier but also "bonier". Pun intended. 10. Definitely yes. I wonder where this game had been in my teenage years. It is brutally good and funny. Try and get the arcade version if you can. If not the SNES game will do. 11. Another great SNK classic. But now also easily available as its original arcade version for every gaming ready platform. 12. SFIIT, the game that finally got released after SFII had been bootlegged to death. Funny how things went in those days. Capcom just gave us what we wanted, and this time for real. 13. Street Fighter II got a great port on the SNES. We all loved to play this game. 14. Ah yes, the famous port of SFA2 for the SNES, something deemed impossible. But with some extra tech magic it was made real. The cartridge had some extra chips tosupport the SNES. 15. Super Punch Out, even better than its predecessor. We can agree that this is the type of games they don't develope anymore. 16. Despite the tinnier sound, I find SSFII more enjoyable than SFII or the Turbo version. 17. The right type of fighter at the right time. When SFII was not getting your attention, this game certainly did. 18. I don't know. Nothing with this ngame kept me interested. 19. This worked better on the Playstation. The Arcade title could not be fully presented on the SNES, with lots of details missing. And despite a lack of colors,the Genesis game was better in terms ofgameplay fluidity. 20. This also exists as an original Neo-Geo arcade version and can be played on any platform today. But that aside, there is nothing too special about this game.

These videos are great! Please do a general "innovative" games on SNES/Megadrive/whatever. I love to see games that tried something different.

U.N. Squadron and Super Aleste are the two best shmups on this list imo. Smash TV isn't a shump but it too is great.

Aero Blasters for TG-16 is the better port. Much faster, more colorful, better balanced. And 2 player coop. It's one of the best shooters of the 16-bit era. This video had an opposite effect on me; most of the Genesis shooters look mediocre or bland. A few like lightning force do stand out. But the sound is so terrible on the Genesis for so many games; can't they do a nice sounding explosion? Does it always have to sound like someone threw paper in a trash bin, or someone made a fart noise with his mouth? It may have a smaller library, but SNES schmups seem to offer more. And of course the PC Engine, where you have things like Air Zonk, Magical Chase, Lords of Thunder, Download, Mr. Heli, my goodness. Definitely the schmup title holder for the era.
