Ngl I've become a bit jaded of the whole race swapping "anti-woke" agenda. Personally, I believe that whoever best fits the character should be able to play the role unless the essence of the character is tied to a specific race. People can still fit the character they are portraying even if they are not the same race and hell, it can also add a lot of depth to the character. Zoe Kravitz played did a really good job at playing Catwoman in the Batman even though Catwoman is not normally a black character, same thing with Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Imo, the outrage should be more focused on the horrendous character writing of some of these characters instead of their race. People don't hate Velma for being Indian (or at least I hope they don't), people hate her for being a narcissistic self insert that puts other people down for their own amusement.
