The Mysterious Origins of The PlayStation Startup Sounds
I love watching this video. It's informative, well paced, and I love your use of Drums & Riffs throughout. The military precision loop at 2:31 is so good, I need a full version
Thanks!
Bravo, great video
I think Dark Forces already had this several years earlier
I don’t get it. Most anime looked like this in the early 80s.
whats the game in the background of 2:56
you sir are the Mark Morgan of editing.
Yo, comin in from Austin - definitely an accurate statement. I saw the jenga building pop up and was like 🤌
Pure joy to watch and also nostalgia creeping in, ha. Would you be so kind to do a Human Revolution follow up ?
Actually I get more OOT Ice Cavern vibes from the soundtrack that's playing in the background of this video lol.
Idk who you are as youtube suggested this, but you're hot
Funny how? Funny like a clown? Do they amuse you?
your editing is a bit intense
I am 40 years old and you are my hero..... I don't know how to express how I am amazed by the PS1 intro.... You won't know how it is special to me.
*ASS*
no gaming console in this world will never out do what Sony PlayStation 2 did or be anything like it. PlayStation 2 is forever the greatest console to exist!
I will admit, I am a little sad you never addressed the biggest banger on the Diablo 2 soundtrack, the Harem theme. But I really appreciate this dissection of the soundtrack for people who aren't good at the whole music stuff.
Thank you!! This was a treat!
the_horror1/4.wav is not funny.
If saul goodman and pyrocynical had a kid
Chad Pyrocinical
Cool video, have a like
Best game ever made
I was born in 1996, so the PS2 really was part of my childhood and pre teen years. No smartphones and minimal social media back then so I was either outside playing or inside playing on the PS2 all day. Good memories 🥲
I always loved the feel of these 90 games more than 16 or 8bit also the graphocs and how the textures look just makes it so much better
This was so darn informative, and interesting. This was a great deep dive, and I've never even thought or heard any of these points about hl1's sound design. This was honestly a great video all around!
gordaon freeman hes cool!
Holy based video
sucks that that guy plagiarized a bunch to make those classic songs :(
Bro do Unreal Tournament 1999, please 🙏🥺
i made a half life sfx video a while ago if anyone wants to see it its on my channel
Terran 1, yep. Unquestionably. When I first started playing at age 9, I could hear it in my sleep as I dreamt about replaying the first two missions. That said, I've taken a keen enjoyment of Terran 4. It's from Brood War and is closely associated with the UED.
To be honest I don't think anything tops the PSX opening sound. And that's fascinating to learn that it's "performed" live by the machine. Weirdly, it always felt like that, somehow. Do you think the difference is detectable, if only subconsciously?
STHAP
shout out to paris chataeu combat
You look like the cracked out version of Saul Goodman
Wait, are you telling me you never made an official video for your cover of Hazardous Environments? To say it with a scientist: "Are you out of your mind?" No but seriously, I would have loved to just jam for three minutes while watching you play guitar and bass with a chill filtered HL environments overlay.
I can't help but wonder how old you are (approximately)
Sounds fantastic!! Criminally underviewed
cool video
I've made jungle inspired music for the last 10 years. Psone game sound samples are all up in my stuff. Awesome video bro
I would love to see you review the game Fluid, I got a copy the other day and the music is genuinely something else. Now i understand why - the guy behind the boot sounds did the music! You can't get more iconic ps1 music than that game
Bro this got me dying 2:31
it's funny how I just watched one of the videos you showed at the intro and I now see it here
yu gi oh forbidden memories has some cool soundtrack.
Thanks for all the efforts for making of this video. I was amazed the quality of the video, and also the background music. Subscribed right away. I didn't knew that the scale of the project was that big. W Fujisawa👏👏 He absolutely cooked it🔥🔥
The jingle!!!!!!
The Jingle????
The Jingle????
So, why is it funny then? Because of the low bit-rate? Is Monty Python funny because they used 8mm film stock?
