Modeling vascular tube formation in vitro using ScienCell’s 3D culturing kits
Overview:
Living cells exist in complex 3-dimensional, multicellular environments under native physiological conditions involving microenvironment-influenced polarization and signaling. Traditional 2-dimensional tissue culturing can lack the infrastructure required for assessing all of these parameters, and thus extrapolating data from 2D in vitro models to in vivo settings can be tricky. As a result, research is trending toward 3D in vitro cultures that offer more accurate in vitro models of cells in their native physiological environment. Join our webinar for an overview on various 3D in vitro culturing techniques and to learn about ScienCell’s new 3D in vitro culturing kits. In addition to providing helpful tips on how to use our 3D culturing kits, this webinar will highlight and detail the advantages and technical aspects of our Endothelial-Pericyte Coculturing Kit, which mimics endothelial-pericyte interaction during angiogenesis.

Dr Jennifer Tung is a Scientist in ScienCell’s Research and Development department. Tung received her PhD in Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Studies from Columbia University, New York, NY in 2012. Her research was conducted under Dr Jan Kitajewski, now of the University of Illinois at Chicago, IL focusing on endothelial cell biology and angiogenesis. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship with Dr Mark Ginsberg at the University of California, San Diego, CA examining cerebral cavernous malformations and vascular biochemistry. Tung joined the ScienCell R&D team in Feb 2016.
