I just got one sweet little knife

It's a awesome knife and the one that was my first and still favorite that unfortunately you can't buy

I have three of these wasp series knives. The blades are very polished and smooth including the cutting edges on the blades. They don't feel sharp when you touch the cutting edge of the blades. All three of mine are like this except that they are sharp as heck. Don't be fooled by them and get cut. They are very sharp.

pls, can anyone tell me if the SR1 Lite tanto version has a hollow grind? Thanks.

The second tool on most doctor’s knives is not a tongue depressor actually, but a spatula used for counting/sorting medications (and a similar tool is still used by modern pharmacists). The flatten but also has a purpose; crushing medicine for use in tonics. The history of some traditional knives is very interesting and a window into how knives are some of the most practical tools ever invented. DUDE stop saying the "shreading of pockets" because that's a lie. Have you had your pockets shredded by any Cold Steel? incompetent youtubers make videos about this lame ass topic and its a lie! The texture on the old cold steels was way better. These new ones have zero texture and your hand can slip compared to the old g10 scales. Cold steel listened to imbeciles and they changed the scale's texture. Another example of worthless incompetent youtubers always complaining about that little bit that was left unsharpened at the base of most cold steel folding blades. That's so the end of the blade won't bite you when you close it with one hand. Also if you want to buy a New Old cold steel people who sharpen that off have redone the Original factory edge, and that lowers the value of the knife.

I agree with you! The size of that holdout is a real draw! I love that! It's like mini sword! So growing up in the '70's through '80's knives came with holsters, you know, the way guns are carried. I don't know who came up with this idea of a clip to turn your pants pocket into a holster, but personally I hate it! I actually use my pockets as intended for car keys, wallet, etc! When I put my knives in my front pocket it interferes with retrieving other items, even my small cheap Gerber or CRKT's with 2" to 3" handles interfere! In my back left it gouges the car seat so my back right is the only one I can use which is ok because my wallet goes front left! My first knife with a clip was a buck that looked like a smaller version of that Holdout. It even had a rubber non slip piece along the center of the handle that slightly protruded where the holes are on the Holdout. I thought the clip was a belt clip and used to wear it like that until I saw others with theirs in their pocket! I felt so dumb, but I was going with the old standard! I guess if you wear pants without a belt then a holster is not functional, but it's much better than in a pocket!

The only issue with mine is that I have a real hard time clipping it onto my pocket. Its not beveled enough on the tip to slide it in conveniently without having to bend the clip outward.

At about 5:10 you wonder why the knife blade isn't sharp all the way to the tang stamp. It's because that part at the bottom of the blade is the stop that prevents the edge from hitting metal and damaging the edge. A "smart" reviewer on YT decided to sharpen his and learned a lesson the hard way. I'm sure Victorinox knows what they're doing before they begin marketing their products. They've been in business for a century and a quarter.

The 79 always goes camping with me.. I don't really miss the Phillips driver because I always carry a 94mm SAK that has one.
