I turboed the single cam in my 240 (7 psi) and it was just the right amount of power to make it a blast to drive and it has been dead reliable. I was also able to keep the A/C, windshield washer tank, cruise control, factory battery location, etc... The single cam gets a bit of a bad rap.

I never quite understood the "oh KA bad just go SR" school of thought with these. The E head isn't going to light the world on fire, but it's actually reasonably comparable to the SR20DE, and the KA24DE head absolutely smokes it. Seems to me that a set of rods and pistons into a KA makes far more sense than relying on motors we only got as NA transverse jobs, but hey.

I got the dual can ka24de on my truck 98 4x4 frontier

I like the KA24E. It was good to me in my Nissan pickup. I should have turboed the 4 cylinder 10 years ago but I ripped it out to start a 1UZFE swap. Megasquirt is my favorite aftermarket ECU.

actually very cool! always loved a boosted single, especially a budget type build. if it gets turned up to far and pops can always build it back up and make some serious power😄

I think it is a bad idea to have the circuit in a place as hot as the distributor. Has anyone had it installed for a while? I don't see videos of a clean start with this module, but I see that some modules are not there, they have problems with the push-button ignition or the remote ignition does not start the car immediately

Yo them heavy ass tires are killing some power also. But yeah some cams will wake her up forsure, while your in there throw some valve springs and retainers and rev her to 10k with some aftermarket cams! New sub loving this!!!

gotta go ka-t for the valve cover! if there was still an engine left to prove something on, the single cam is the way to go, im curious as well to see what stock internals can hold then maybe forged after folds itself

I’ve been running these same headers for over 2 years now with no issues at all. A spectre cold air intake, straight pipe exhaust & these catless headers made a 50+ whp gain for me when I first got tuned on a conservative dyno Jet. If anyone out there has a 5th gen SS and is thinking about giving these a shot, do it. You don’t need to break the bank on basic bolt on’s to make power. Save that money for quality internal engine parts like a cam upgrade where name brand parts matter the most.
