I always find it funny that Nintendo would reuse Bald Bull, Soda Popinski, and Mr. Sandman's laugh for Ganon in The Adventure of Link when you get a Game Over.

Imagine if Great Tiger did those uppercuts in a match, they're faster than the Dreamland Express & almost Dream/Tyson's jabs in round 2 & 3.

I remember one time when I was a kid, I played this game and actually let Glass Joe beat me just because I wanted to see what he did when he won.

0:25 is the best one . As bad as weak of a boxer as Von is, with that 'stache and badass facial expression while pumping his fist he makes those who haven't learned the pattern intimidated. I know I was at age 7 until my older brother gave me tips.

Jus asking, but has anyone ever though about how King Hippo’s winning animations can actually help the player? Like, King Hippo’s pants fall down here, and he has his mouth open. Maybe I’m thinking too much into this, but maybe the winning animation was a hint to the player about how his pants fall down and you punch his belly button.

I like how they play Soda's laugh during Macho's victory screen even though his mouth is completely static, so it just looks like he's laughing out of his mantitties.

Don Flamenco is basically a better Glass Joe they have same jabs,hook,and win animation,body texture,body height. Great Tiger is basically better Von Kaiser. Mike Tyson is basically a better Piston Honda. Mr Sandman is basically a better Bald Bull. Super macho man is basically a better Soda Popinski. And King Hippo is alone there due to his body weight

When I was little I could only make it to Piston Honda because I never knew strategy was involved. So I only punched them continuously- like I never dodged so that I could hit them multiple times.

I feel the Bald Bull/ Mr. Sandman and Soda Popinski was loosely inspired by the Arcade versions.

I've always wondered why some opponents walk to the edge of the screen? Does it have to do with the timing of their animations? To not make the sound effects of their laughs our muscle flexing interfere with the sound of the bell? It doesn't seem to be a problem when they win by decision and stay in the corner. As a child, I actually had nightmares of Bald Bull walking out of the screen.

I don’t believe this. I played this game for years & beating Mike Tyson was near impossible lol. & that ref counted to 10secs in 6 secs

With you including the heights and weights, I see so many inconsistencies in how Nintendo did this (e.g. Honda, Bald Bull, Soda Pop), with the best being Honda and Tyson, who have the exact same pallete swap, yet are 4.5" different in height, and nearly 50 lbs. different in weight :P

I don't want to start a conspiracy but Mario's count seems a bit biased.
