OMG
Hey Ucha, happy to see you're trying to get into doing content! You're one of my favorite producers so I'd love for this to work out for you! I'll write a few points on what I thought about the pilot. -Keep the transitions simple and short, I'd really just do simple cuts between the camera angles. DEFINITELY get rid of the "woosh" sound whenever the camera changes, I think it is very offputting and gets annoying after some point. visual effects should be reserved as an indication that some new information just showed up on screen, such as if you wanted a few sentences on Endorphins earlier projects and name of that project when you talked about it, or other background information that you think is necessary to understand what you or your guest is talking about. -You probably already noticed this: Get some Podcast microphone stands to make sure you and your guests can keep your microphones close to your/their mouth. Getting two of the same microphones (sm7B's are standard, but anything works really) really helps with the audio sounding like the viewer is in the room with you, since there is no difference in EQ or effects applied to the mics. -There are a lot of background noises audible especially in the beginning, which could also be especially audible due to you having to crank your mic volume. I would not record a podcast anywhere where I would not be sure that there would be no distracting background noises. It's distracting you and your guests, and especially the listener. -Think about what your main goal of this podcast should be. Do you want to introduce subscribers to new artists? Do you want to get a different, interesting perspective on already established artists? Or do you want to have an interesting conversation on the electronic music/production/DJ/whatever related side of the music industry. This first pilot seems to me to be a combination of the first two, focusing mostly on the +1 you bring with you, but I would be more interested in a conversation of two "experts" talking about topics relevant and interesting to both of them. The pilot right now seems very rigid and puts you in the role of an interviewer, asking Endorphins mostly to tell you about his come up and his career development. I would appreciate a more natural conversation, similar to a kind of podcast, that is not just about information, but getting to know the personalities of you and your guest, and maybe hearing about personal stories. I also wanted to give you some ideas on future topics you could discuss: Worst or funniest gig stories (USBs getting stolen, drinks getting spilled, whatever else), Approaches to production (How is song creation structured in your brain, how do you make sense of it), Lowest point/Highest point in your musical career, how you are dealing with the mental aspects of having a very competitive, creative career, where it is difficult to judge the quality of your own work, and I'm sure there are plenty more. I like when these kinds of information are conveyed through a natural conversation though, giving both you and your guests the opportunity to throw topics and ideas back and forth, and search for differences and similarities in your approaches, instead of you interviewing a guest, without giving them back much of anything. Looking forward to see the next episode and what you want to do with this, also I hope you're aware that none of these podcast/interview type things turn out perfect from the get go, and that if you're interested in pursuing this you should reevaluate the quality of it after 5-10 episodes, not after the first pilot. All the best!
Hey man: Thanks a lot for your opinion, I will improve all that stuff for the next episodes.
Great job, good luck!
Thank you mate
