I now live in levittown ny I still miss Myrtle ave all I have is good memories. Thank you
Awesome to see you keeping up with Seneca Avenue Train Station, I used to live very close to that station and would always take it.
It was named but rite when I was a kid in the 50’s.
My dad took me to see Scooby Doo in 2002 here i remember there being a long line and the spot next door was selling small scooby inflatables for the release🥲
Wow, my grandpa went there all the time with me as a little girl. It's sad to see all the small stores closing up from when I was a kid, walking up and down Myrtle Ave with my Grandma. Thank you so much for posting, has brought back some good memories.
I grew up on 360 knickerbocker the roof of Laundromat was my back yard, i hungout Stockholm in the 90's the tea factory was out hand ball court our baseball field basketball court snd the street our football field great times to have grown up
Those cars aren't vintage, those are antique!
I made my communion and confirmation here. I also attended the school across the street up to 8th grade and I was in the choir at church. It was such a beautiful church.
I so much enjoyed this so thank you rdgwd237. These buildings were built so beautifully by German and Dutch and they still stand so strong. Not like buildings built today. I was told by family I was one of the last births at Evangelical Deaconess in November 1959. There's a photo of this hospital on my birth cert. A decade ago I was heavy into genealogy history and discovered my great grandmother died very young at Brooklyn State Hospital. Does anyone have any info on this hospital? I'm hearing all sorts of different things about it. She died there in 1925.
Wasn't the bank JAY ROSE?
I liked Ridgewood when it was mostly German. Like living in Europe.
went to PS 88. walked home every day for lunch. Pretzel man and crossing guard on forest and catalpa. (Mrs.Howe.) Once in a life time experience.
Nowvin 2024 it is more beautiful. The father Ruiz with the support of many people painted everything in the original way. It has more lights inside and outside.

Lived in ridgewood for most of my childhood. I am so heartbroken how much it’s changed. I especially hate all the hipster shops. Thanks for the videos, I come back to your channel every now and then.
I’ve watched Home Alone 2 to Jurassic Park 3. Many memories to cherish
You ok?
Do they still use lower church for mass ?
I wounder if Father Kelly is still with us.
I went there for 7th and 8th grades. I also remember when they held the bazaars in the auditorium and lower level. Thanks for the memories. 😊
I remember the English muffin pizza for 25 cents
I got married in Saint Brigid on March 21st 1970 by Father Kelly
ah bushwick. the neighborhood where this guy from queens got addicted to heroin in the 1980s. such great dope there, esp knickerbocker park and surrounding blocks. But Rudy put a damper on it. after 40 years of sniffing dope, I've been straight for 3 years now. i hate fent so that helped me stop. there is no real heroin any more
Thanks for the memories to see my Home Street where are used to live back when I was born ( St Nicholas Avs )
Yup. In later years it was Buy Rite for years. No elevator. Just old wooden stairs.
Hi All, just came across this video. My family owned Nagengast Hardware and Hobby since 1942. Thank You all for your kind words and remembering us in such a nice way. We appreciated you all as well!! All about community and doing the right thing for everyone. With Home Depot etc. wrecking small businesses we made the right decisions for us. Miss so many of our customers and neighbors that have lived in Ridgewood. Many of our neighbors met the same fate. The Normandia's from Ridgewood Chemist where are dearest friends. An enormous amount of people entered Nagengast every week. We appreciated you all. Though lol ....we met people from every aspect of society. Good and bad. God bless. On another note, an important one. I saw NYC in its rawest growing up. Giuliani changed our city and made it safe in a way I didn't think possible. I rarely went to Shea or Yankee stadium because of the danger. Then Gulianni cleaned up NY. Fact. I visit now and am disgusted what the Democrats of today have done to this great city and many others. My friends and brothers in the NYPD deserve better. We learned very young in Ridgewood with our diverse neighbors that racism is laughable and we all enjoyed tormenting each other with same. This woke culture would never exist if they grew up in a multi cultural society like Ridgewood in the day. We know better and love accordingly.
Amen to that
I lived at 211 knickerbocker
😀😀Wow!! I used to live at 864 Knickerbocker Avenue Between Schaefer Street and Decatur Street. My old stumping Grounds!! I lived here from 1968 to 1977.
Great Christmas Memories here!!!
That was my school from 1973 till 1976

What happened to your videos ?you don't make them anymore ?
I wonder what happened to her.. I used to watch her videos years ago and every once in a while I check back with her channel to see if she started posting again.. Kind of strange how she just stopped her videos.. I hope she didn't pass away..
I remember watching this video when you first posted it.. And I Just stumbled upon it in the browse section and watched it again after all these years and still enjoyed it very much.. I can't believe you posted this 13 years ago .. It's scary how fast time moves along..
I used to go to school there at I.S. 119
I love Zum Stammtisch. I was born in Glendale and both my parents' families lived there so it was surreal to return to the area in the early 2000s after an absence of forty years.

I did my communion there with sister Joanne and my catholic classes with father john. ❤🙏 who are you recording this I love my hood. Bedstuy do or die.
One thing that I've noticed in all these Bushwick videos there's no kids playing stickball I guess the hipsters are too hip to play ball
I saw child's play. License to drive. Tango n cash. Etc miss those days 😢
so many memories of my youth riding my bike across the indian bridge, late 50's early 60's. I would enter from Vermont st and ride around the park and exit out onto highland blvd
