How we charge our fully electric campervan with our rooftop solar. It's slow, but we're camping all day anyway so it may take a while for all we care. More important; It's free, noiseless and doesn't smell or bothers anyone. #automobile #poweredbynature #poweredbythesun #vanlife

Can you share any more information on your Infra Red heating setup and whether you think its working efficiently and effctively for you.
I've build in sheets of infrared heating in the floor, the ceiling and all the walls. All together approx. 500Watts which works brilliantly. It can keep the van inside at 20° when it's -3° outside. We know from experience now. There's a thermostat controlling the warmth so the 500Watts are rarely used for long(er) periods. The system is integrated in the Alexa smart home(van) setup. We only need to tell Alexa to turn the heating on or off. Infrared is very efficiënt. Every kW of electricity is turned over in a kW of warmth. Only the warmthpump is more efficiënt. Our infrared easily runs of our 400A leisurebattery...
I would love to hear more about your infra red heating system, if you can share?
I've build sheets of infrared in in the ceiling, the floor and all the walls. Therefore warmth can come from all directions. We really wanted to keep the bulkhead so could not make use of the warmthpump for the cabine to heat the entire van. For we do a lot of wildcamping too and like this it looks a lot less suspicious when parked for the night... The infrared uses a max. of 500watts and thermostats which keeps our van at +19° celcius inside when it's -3° outside (we know now from experience). It runs of the leisure battery (400A) which at night will be charged too from the large mean battery underneath the van. The infrared sheets that we have used are 230V. On board we have 230V from the Victron Multiplus 3000...
Great video, how do you find using the chargers in the larger van?
Paul Armstrong Thanx! There are so many apps that we use to find them. It can be a challenge to get short CCS cables in on the side of the van sometimes. But usualy we don't need them at all for we don't travel more then 120-150 kilometers per day. After an hour or two the dog and we are too fed up with riding and traffic. The van can charge slowly with type2 all night then... This Tesla charge wasn't really needed either. We just wanted to know if it works... which it did... 😊
Erneut knapp verpasst. Aber beim nächsten Mal :-)
Schön, dass wir uns gestern kennengelernt haben 👍
Sehr schönes Video. Ihr hattet einen tollen Tag.
Wow beautiful Netherlands 😂😂😂
Ja is best wel mooi 😊
En we komen uit Nederland
Wij ook. Maar de allereerste reactie op een filmpje was in het Engels. Dus besloten we om in het Engels verder te gaan...
We are new to your channel 🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
Welkom
Prachtig! Ze zijn allebei aanvankelijk heel voorzichtig. Qwappa lijkt iets zelfverzekerder: ze draagt haar staart hoger. Knap gedaan!

Hello from Trujillo Perú where we suffer from coastal fog, but our 1980 peek watt solar panel set up + our old lead acid scooter batteries power most of our home and our E-scooter chargers. We are trying to find a Chinese EV van because of price that can charge from a built on solar array so that we can begin solar camping adventures.
We have build a fully electric campervan with the Maxus EV80. We can charge our Van from the solar panels on the roof of the Van. It takes time because it is only 6A (1300Watt). But after 30 Sunhours the battery is fully charged for the next 200km... We love slow travel. Good luck with your project!
Schöne Erinnerungsvideos stellst du zusammen.
Gefällt mir sehr gut.
Danke schön. Wir versuchen jedes mal etwas zu verbessern...
useful . budddy~
Thanks for sharing your story, we loved hearing how you got here! And that you're charging your traction batteries with your solar panel so much, that's awesome 👏 We can do this too but in a bit of a roundabout way (our solar panels charge our house battery via an inverter and we can charge the traction battery from a regular outlet that in turn is powered by the house batteries). Is this how you do it as well or did you find a way to directly power the traction batteries with solar? Groetjes uit Groningen!☀
Thanks for your reply. And yes... We do that too. We have approx. 14kW of Solarmoduls on and around our Home that charge our 19kW Homebattery. We call it our 'Nightsun'. From there we power our House (with heatpump), the Lawnmower, our Car, Motorcycle etc. basicly everything and therefore our eCampervan now too. We can charge the Van with 6A already. That's about 1200 Watts, almost equaling what is on the roof of the Van. As long as there is Sun, the Van can charge itself completely via the Victron 12/3000 inverter... Maybe you can call it the downside of eCampervanning the way we're trying to do it; 'We always need to be there where there is plenty of sunshine!' 🤣🤭 In any other case we need a lot more time OR to charge it from some sort of shorepower, Type2 or even CCS... All that is an option and possible. For instance in case of emergency or when suddenly we're in a hurry. We do not aim for that however. Campervanning is all about 'the journey', not 'the destination'... Groetjes uit Emsland! Wellicht treffen elkaar eens ergens... 🤗 zo ver uit elkaar liggen de woonplaatsen niet 😂 Dat redden jullie en wij ook zelfs makkelijk zonder tussenstops! 🤣
@@designedtogoslow That's awesome! En inderdaad superleuk om elkaar eens te treffen, dat moet idd prima te doen zijn zonder laadstops haha
This looks like so much fun! Thanks for the nice video, next year if we're in the area we'll come for a visit at the electric camping in Speyenburg for sure!
