It’s a batik. I’ve had it several years and it’s a special gift. I have a few months for that. And yeah the handmade stamps. Working on a budget you gotta get a little creative ❤️

Those doilies are amazing. I'm old-fashioned I still use them in my home. My girlfriend teases me I still live in my mother's home. I wish my house was as lovely as my mom kept her house.Those pillowcases were a great find too. You used to have to hem all of your pillowcases to standard, queen, and king yourself. What would people do now, not many people know how to sew leave alone have their own sewing machine. Ode to the days when a family could survive on one paycheck. lol
Yes it was definitely a great find. And on a sale day to boot! 🤸 My Mom used to quilt and tho she didn’t teach me (I wasn’t interested at the time - she made some beautiful quilts and I’ve made enough to keep on my living room furniture in case you get cold. Wherever you sit, there is always one in reach ❤️

@@dianeolson3777 book jewelry is charms and/or beads usually made from broken jewelry into dangles that can be put on things like paper clips to hold your place in the book. Also you can make tassels with broken jewelry. It’s just to “dress up” your journal ☺️

I find if i let the gkue dry COMPLETELY before bending any part of the cover, it helps with the buckling. Then fold very slowfy. Might be of help.
@@inthepapercloset I think it was actually due to what I was using. I used matte gel medium from liquitex Instead of mod podge or regular PVA glue. At least I know for next time that won’t work lol

If you are having problems with your gel plate, you just need to clean it and re-oil it. Maybe I should do a little video this weekend for you on how I do mine? Would you like that? Save your money sweetie. I just got a new printer this eve. It was just dropped outside my door without a knock or ringing the door bell and thing is it wasn't supposed to show up until Monday :O. Now, I can finish setting it up and then print some digitals for my Halloween journal etc. Have a wonderful weekend. ☺♥

so cool, Kerry! I love how you did your 28 and I totally agree...always check your stamps! I had a gecko covered in glue....don't know how...probably a child but anywoo...when I stamped it it didn't work at all...had to clean off the dried on glue first. lol. I love all your post cards! Great job on that challenge! I set out to do Jj July and never got past making the journal.

You do this part the same as me also. When I cut the corners of the fabric/paper off I keep those pieces handy incase I cut too much off then I can glue the corner piece onto the inside cover before the edges.... Did that make sense? Have a wonderful day. ☺♥

Thank you! I’m enjoying this mixed media and I really like the way my first two came out. Ceri the Crafter and Darcy’s Misadventures with Mixed Media started popping up in my next up queue. So I’ve been playing with my gel plate a little bit more ❣️🤩
~~more thoughts~~I'm really wondering about using home-made envelopes. I know the #happymailmovement was created around that idea, but I've now seen a few videos sharing envelopes damaged in the mail~~~it really is a shame~~~
Yes it is sad and I feel really bad but since I’m not the only one affected I figured someone should file a complaint. And actually I was thinking that too, we should use a regular envelope but I agree it would take away the fun of it 😔
ooooooooooooooooooooooo nooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Incredible. Geez. But at least I know I wasn't dreaming...I HAD sent you an envelope. Oh, Kerry - I am really glad you filed a complaint. As you said, that was not a flimsy envelope. Well, I DID in fact send you a replacement. it went out yesterday (July 1) - so let's see what happens to that one. Your idea of putting heavy tape around the edges seems sensible, although of course, it may detract from the way the envelope looks. Oh lordie~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
