      Only because my wife grew up with her family in the area. There used to be a plantation 20-30 years ago. But there is land available to buy without paying a fortune.

      Yes - it used to be plantation land. It has not been utilized for maybe 30 years. This is the dry season and the highest part of the land plot - so the dryest. Now we are in the green season. I will go there in a month to film and explore the whole plot (2 km) in the green season.

    What’s the selling market like there? Is it quiet slow? I’m looking to buy, renovate and sell rather than rent long term, or do you think that’s unlikely? Thanks

      Well, it all depends on the location, size, state of maintenance, and of course price. If it is located in the busy center of the city, is maintained, and has a fair price, you should be able to sell again in a fair amount of time. Otherwise, it is easy to rent until you find a buyer. We usually find new tenants in a week.

      @@brazprop Great, thank you! Do you know if there's a specific government website or other place where you can look up who owns what land? It would be nice to be able to easily contact people that own pieces of land that have the approx size you want so you can contact/buy from one person, instead of wanting for example a 100 hectare part of land and then finding out that 6 different people own it.

    This price you are reporting is very strange. 20 acres for 11,000 dollars???? In Brazil this is the value of 1 car. Be very careful in Bahia, they may try to deceive you.

      I absolutely agree on that that price is way too high. When a gringo ask for prices, they usually give a very high initial quote. 🙄 That piece of land is not worth bying at that price for sure! The owner got the land basically for free, so if someone would make a WAY lower counter offer, they might jump on it.

      @@maramesquita7444 Well, that is the quote the owner gave me. So I would disagree and say that it does exist. 🙂 You need to realize that the owner got the land for free because he grew up there. 11.000 USD may not be that small an amount for him. That is about four years' salary there.

      I'm Brazilian and I live in Ohio for now, the price is reasonable for that location, it's not the best call to raise cattle because it's very hot and even in rainy seasons, it doesn't rain very often, but land prices do in the northeast part they are very cheap if bought in dollar, but there are other states with much more green land in states like tocantins, ceará, piaui, maranhão (where i was born) pernanbuco and bahia. but in the video you showed one of the driest and hottest places in the Northeast region

      @@kemueldavyson1398 Thank you for your comment! :-) This is in Bahia, just on the border to Pernambuco. This video was taken outside of the rainy season. It should become a lot greener in the rainy season. However, for crops to grow here efficiently, you would probably have to water artificially. It could be done by putting pipes with small holes in the ground. I have seen it done in several places. It does not cast too much to have a well dug.

      Thanks for your comment. They do have closets, though. :-D However, they would seldom put closets in an apartment decorated with the sole intention of selling units. It would just take up space and make the apartment look smaller. If they do, they are made of glass or have mirrors on the outside. It is all part of the sales strategy. Once someone eventually does the interior design of the finished apartment, they will for sure include closets in the design. Anything else would not make sense unless the unit is only used for STR.

      @@brazprop A walk in closet for the master bedrooms. Not a dresser closet. I have seen some beautiful apartments with so much empty space. They should build a walk in closet instead.

      @@Netflexstory Then you would most likely get a better profit margin with an older well maintained building. You will pay a lot more for the leisure areas, pool, gym, but you cannot charge a much higher rent. Buying directly from the owner will save you at least 6% realtor fee. What is your clientele? Business, vacation, Brazilians? Long term or short term? This is for zoning in on your area. Do you already have some specific areas of the city in mind?

      I currently visit Brasil on a tourist visa, so yes, foreigners can own land here and do agricultural business. There could be restrictions on what you grow and how to farm. Thinking of anything in particular?

      @@rahulchakraborty8916 I don’t know any. But there should be a lot of them. A real estate agent in those parts will have farms and farm land to sell as well as houses. However, if you already know where (more or less) you are interested in buying you should try to get in touch with the current owner directly. Maybe go there on a trip to investigate on your own. The agents will usually change a lot (way too much) on top of the original price.

      @@boomme3598 They are both rented out now. The houses are for sale as well. It is fast and easy to get the tenants out. It is a matter of paying a fine of one months rent to terminate the contracts.
