Happy Thanksgiving to you! It's always nice and quiet around here. I've been with my partner for 10 years and i think he's worked everyone. Gotta love that time and a half! Lol. I also find it hard to budget for takeout. Life happens. I started adding a bit each grocery budget and changed it to a food budget instead. That now covers groceries, coffee, takeout etc. If we eat out then that means less grocery money. It's helped with food waste too.

I bought one at full price and was so disappointed. I had the same issues you had with wear and tear.

if you can try to keep business and personal transactions in a separate accounts, you can also create a business budget to keep that separate too, much easier when it comes to tax/accounting

i agree with you in this situation, you can split the furnace oil into 2 pmts just to manage your cash flow and allocate some to the breaks as those are emergency and if they are not fixed they might cause other damage and risky too. as someone who works in finance i can tell you that you are doing a great job and your budget is among one of the best i've seen for canadian content and i enjoy it. :-) well done!! one thing i would change is to add at least $100 for EMF as a bill payment so that you can build that savings for emergencies, in that way you will not be forced to use your TFSA or incur more debt.

Have you ever thought of transferring your chequing account to a free chequing account? $16/month for the banks to hold your money is crazy given there are so many options now. $16 probably isn't killing your budget but banks already make money off your money by lending it to other people.

Thank you! This is by far the best video I have seen. Everyone else seems to be caught up in the hype and cruising along charging ungodly prices for 1 and 4 envelopes claiming we can help you learn charging crazy rates - I appreciate you. I've spent a few dollars on envelopes that have yet to arrive - I already had blush color vellum and I just made myself 20 envelopes that I totally love! Now if I can figure out this hole puncher, I will be in envelope heaven! Thanks again for keeping it real!
