MIKE! MONEY LOVES PRIVACY! WE DONT KNOW FKK ABOUT RICH PEOPLE! THAT THEY ATE PRIME RIB EVERY NITE OF THE WEEK! LINKED IN MEANS CASH OUT! XXSS
Always so many great recruiting nuggets in this show.
Love u
I love this show because it seems like I'm eavesdropping on two recruiting pros.
Oh deleted my comment~ Told you cold callers suck.
Lots of people think so but sometimes recruiters are telling you about interesting jobs at no cost to you.
Accountability
Good for u!
Thom chiming in! Love being on your show and I did call Rich out. I said he only liked it because his name was in it LOL (love you Rich)
Made some of the changes you recommended in layout. Doubt it will affect interest but it makes some playlists more readily available. I will probably add more.
Learned a lot about recruiting as usual.
I really need to lose weighht
I LOVE IT
Hello
I was the guy who got blocked by MS, I am not some emailing maniac. I didn't understand how Loxos email outreach worked. So I set up all these different email campaigns by states to go out , I was covering the whole country for a very niche role. Now stupid me I thought loxo would delay them but it didnt so a huge mass of email went out at once and MS saw that and blocked it. lol
This is cool, I never watched a show in the future.
A Joe Biden moment
"Is it just about the money?" For the employer it's just about the money. I've never read about anything else in a 10k/annual report. They aren't running a charity, usually. So it should be for the employee. The money is the only thing which is actually quantifiable. So we should at least get that straight before we invest any time in it. 2:54 "You're not going to get two hundred thousand dollars." Why not? If that's what the role pays then that's what it's worth to them. If I make the cut and they want to hire me then that's what I should get paid. 3:40 "Do you work for free?" Excellent point. 5:17 Sometimes I'm happy to socialize but does getting to know each other serve any business purpose? Odds are we're never going to talk to each other again. 5:20 My mortgage company only accepts my pay. Not other forms of value. 5:50 You are paid to fill a role, not to place that individual. An important distinction for the candidate to understand. Recruiters find people for jobs, not jobs for people. 9:11 You don't know enough about me, I don't know enough about your client, but I know what I've got in bills to pay. So I know what kind of number I need. Don't second guess me on that. 9:30 Working for an asshole is important to know but you can tell me about that after the numbers. Tell people about the money up front. Even if it's a big range. Be honest. If there's a reason they won't get the tip of the range (experience or whatever) you can tell them that.
The problem with our country is we have allowed the easily offended to take control of our culture. No one got rid of people that were supporting Black Lives Matter, which was nothing more than a criminal organization, taking money from people so that the leaders could buy houses. I have a good friend black male retired vet disabled now who lost a job with a firm that everyone knows because he said he’s black and was not in agreement with their big BLM push. Seriously it’s long past time to stop impacting peoples livelihood because of political correctness. It’s time to push back at every opportunity. If we don’t, then those of us who have children have failed them miserably because they won’t even have the ability to speak freely.
MPC takes the spotlight off of you. I came from a generalist firm years ago, MPC's. I placed people in all different types of positions. I did gaming, my boss; we need someone for this hospital search to find them for us. He only said it's in a rathole, so you must find someone who works there. Off I went and found them, and they were placed. I knew zero about healthcare. Im starting again now and the skills are coming back to me. I know a good person from a crap one. It doesn't matter the industry. I think you could throw Thom or Rich in any industry and they would quickly place people. Now knowing a niche gives you an advantage of knowing salaries and hot-button issues but also it makes someone come to the search with assumptions which isnt always a good thing. If you remember the Fordyce letter he would go to a firm he never worked and do a placement very quickly and write about it. He wasn't an expert in the niche but in recruiting.
I cant wait til I close my first deal so then I can be on the Recruiting Animal show. :)
As a candidate, i almost never talk to a recruiter a second time. They always say they will keep me in mind for future positions but i never hear from them again. Out of nearly 4000 recruiters with whom I have spoken over the past 20 years i would guess i have heard back a second time from maybe 4.
Tracy, Gavin has a special approach in that he stresses the need for a very, very narrow niche practice and a commitment to know almost everyone in the field. Also, he places people in temporary contract roles. So since his stomping grounds are so narrow and the jobs are so limited in time, he is more likely than the average recruiter, perhaps, to have a reason to get in touch with the same people again and again.
I work for a company worth 24 Billion dollars for 4 months through a temp service. My hard work in dedication caught the management's attention. They encourage me to apply. After getting an offer letter and completing my background check. HR informed me that they couldn't continue with the higher process because I had a Conviction in the last seven years (nonfelonies) They mean ANY convictions. Yet I could continue working as a temp. So you're telling me that I can do the same job as a regular employee, yet get paid $17.00 per hour less?!? It's funny how you can be a convicted felon and run the country , but can't load boxes on a truck.
Hi Animal!, Where can I find the full disscussion that this clip came from?
You see it says 23 06 14? That's June 14 2023. th-cam.com/video/ODnbbs1J0tA/w-d-xo.html
is Rich tutoring specifically for the USA market?
I'm not sure but that definitely is the market he knows best. You can always email him or ask on Linkedin. I know that he has done work in Europe but I believe it was with local partners.
awesome discussion. great scenarios and solutions to consider. Thanks guys
Thanks.

:D
You’re a beta male 😂
Political hyena, I really think they are disgusting
That's great you're happy, where you are at. But if you were in charge tomorrow, what is the one thing you would change about your position? If I came across an opportunity that had that would you like to talk about that?
Peter Lefkowitz?
@@RecruitingAnimal Yeppers, I still have a Morgan planner in my drawer, lol. I didn't agree with everything he said, and some of it sounded too salesy, but that one worked for me. Also, my boss at the time said never go in with the opportunity; find out why, and it can't be money. I will be working with Thomm at the end of April.
What about MRI for her?
I think that was suggested. Or a company like it.
Interesting!
where is the full version of this?
It's from the June 14, 2023 Full Show and there is a slightly longer version under the title "Are most applicants poor candidates" at this link th-cam.com/video/9CrDvRMooDM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fVWZVKvVN36H1b5W
@@RecruitingAnimal thanks
More advice on professionalism please…..
Go to Playlists in The Recruiting Animal Channel and click on Rapport. It will show you videos that discuss communication with candidates and clients you know and don't know. All of the regulars believe in finding little things to chat about and they are chatty people to begin with. But not everyone is naturally chatty or pally and I don't think that excludes them from doing business.
Here is the video I refer to in my video th-cam.com/users/shorts7rXiTbI9S10
Why can’t extroverts accept that we keep to ourselves, we can be hhappy while not being with other people. Extroverts don’t get that 🙄
They feel a need to build bonds with the people they want to do business with them and can't imagine doing that without being pally.
what system does Rich use to send the mass email? Linkedin, a CRM system or an email service
I'm pretty sure that he uses Crelate his ATS but he likes to look at all kinds of tools.
@@RecruitingAnimal got it, I'll find the best one then for myself. thanks, I'm enjoying the videos keep em coming.
What if higher ups inform you to stop reaching out to the business or clients? would you continue to contact them, I mean why still reach out if they do not answer you for a month straight?
These are all independent recruiters so there are no higher ups. Also, they are big billers. And there are probably very few cases in which they are motivated to pursue anyone this much. th-cam.com/video/sfguFPKb9iY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=r7VY36x0B1Jn5Kwi
Got it, thank you.
time for your meds
Glorious!😂
First.
hi
bone conduction after shokz open comm, you will hear crystal clear because it doesnt use your ears to hear.
Thanks for the tip. I saw a bone conductor headset on BestBuy a couple of weeks ago on sale. I had never heard of them before and considered it but the reviews were not very good so I took a pass. Now you're giving me a good review. I will note as well that I have no problem hearing a regular phone so I don't think it's my hearing. And, finally, Rich convinced me to take a look at VOIP. It's so much cheaper than my landline and offers a lot more so I'm seriously considering a move.
@@RecruitingAnimal Shokz - OpenComm 2 UC USB-A Bluetooth Bone Conduction Headset this is the one to get for work its $179 and has a fantastic noise reduction microphone on it. They aren't great for music but for speech, they are very good.
Well, my car is clean as fuck
Exactly
FACTS
You want 109 years experience for entry level positions. People go to school for 20 years, get a degree, and they are already expected to have experience. Literally impossible. Stop sucking on Corp teats
Texting in the new generation is actually the more considerate option man, the mindset is "they might be busy, so I'd rather send a text so they can get back to me in their time" rather than this mindset of "I'm so important that I am going to call them right now and hope they drop whatever they're doing to talk to me about my interview" You've probably missed some really good workers with such a ridiculous reason
These boomers don't know shit about the new generations. We love to avoid phone calls at any cost.. xD
That was fun 😂
probably an idiot for the foolish and re*ard.
Good subject but you glossed over the analysis of why you would consider the refund. IMO we are missing the critical thinking. This is the scenario that also builds your guarantee. If you have to consider doing something outside your policies you must also have a decision matrix. All your exceptions have to have a positive negative decision tree so they can be tied back to your directives. If something changes in the flow chart it changes your end goal. Maybe you need to relax your guarantee. Maybe you need to strengthen it. Basically a risk management assessment.
I cut out part of the conversation. Not many people would agree with me, I know. In the full show, I go on to read what Rich said about it but because he wasn't there to say it himself I left it out. He never gives back money. He will do something like promise to "repay" the fee via discounts over next 3 placements. Thanks for your comment.
Back in the day I would place Vice Presidents. It was a phone interview, and if they liked him, they would fly them in, and after that, if they liked the person, there was an offer. Now its 5 interviews for a $15 an hour job lol
