Wide Joint XL is a high performance cementitious grout, suitable for internal and external use that accommodates a joint from 2mm up to 60mm wide and provides a grout joint that is dense and hard. WIDE JOINT XL Grout is colour consistent and resists shrinkage.
Preparation: 0:14
To begin installing Wide Joint XL Grout, first prepare the surface by cleaning with a wet sponge and remove spacers, debris, or anything that may impede the grout depth.
Mixing: 0:24
Mix a 20kg bag with 3.1 to 3.3 litres of clean water, and mix with a low speed drill mixer for 1 minute. Wait five minutes, then remix with a drill for another minute.
Application: 0:36
To apply, first hydrate the surface with a sponge and ensure the surface is still clean. Spread with a sharp, firm rubber grout float. Work the grout paste in into the joints until completely packed and filled. Remove excess grout from the face of the tiles by holding the float at a 90 degree angle and pull it diagonally across the joints.
Cleaning: 1:00
Wait 20 minutes, then begin cleaning with a damp sponge. Work diagonally across the joints, rinsing the sponge regularly. Wait one hour, then begin second cleaning. Repeat the process, wiping down the entire area with a damp sponge to remove remaining grout haze.
Final Steps:
Provide protection to the installation for 24 hours when working at 21 degrees.
