It's a cold starting aid only not like a choke on an old car, as soon as the bike starts it should be turned off, it's not a conventional choke that you need to keep on through warm up that raises the idle speed a little. It is a block in the carb that shuts of 90% of the air on INITIAL COLD starts.
i started watching this video and i notice that this guy doesn't have any mirrors, then i started laughing because i remembered you couldn't see out the mirrors back in the day
Best looking BSA ever made!
Awsome ride

@@madssnabel3277 Thanks.
Likes a bit of choke, doesn't it?
The engine was cold and I removed the choke after a minute or two
coming off with no gloves on ,ouch.
I forgot. Was too excited about the camera and mic attached. It ended well though :)
Beautiful sound, well done.
Thanks , it is all stock with a very crisp sound
@@madssnabel3277 bonsoir !! C'est une sorte de starter que vous touchez ?? Au niveau du guidon.. Superbe vidéo et son envoûtant. Merci beaucoup.. 👍👌👌
Would it not have been easier to have the choke lever on the left side of the handlebars? That would save reaching across to the right?
you're right. That is a good idea... thx!

Purchased a 1968 yesterday and it appears to have straight through pipes sounds awesome. Roll on some warmer weather. Your bike really is nice.
Jim Whamond thanks. Standard mufflers for the 68 Firebird. Got the hornet straight throughs as well. Testing them this summer . Cheers :D

Apaulo Thegreat lol, i’m not dragracing that old lady.
You can hear the points cracking
There’s something magical about old british bikes
which country are you riding in it's not Britain one of the Scandinavian countries perhaps.
Stephen Adams its Denmark Stephen :)
Aah the sound of a British bike the torque, and handling. You know you're really riding a Motorcycle
Where is this filmed?
Thx, in Denmark near the coast line
Sweet music to my ears!
03bonneville mine also ;-)
I stand corrected!
An English bike on Engish roads, well done!
charles Middleton english bike on danish roads 😎
Been away from UK since '89 - they swapped from driving on the left then? <grin>
@@HodgdonH110 He said DENMARK. He IS NOT in England!
@@KStewart-th4sk What was your first clue? The road signage? The car number plates? Maybe even his brevity with riding on the wrong side of the road?
Amazing this company disappeared in 1972?
Two wheel fun, these English motorcycles were great, the small bikes were ordinary but the 650 and 750 put a smiles on many faces. me included..
Sounds just like my 65’ Hornet! Love this!
Daren Stahl BSA , Best Sound Around ;)
Sounds great!! BSAs sound amazing
nice but seems kinda wiggly
Alan Hodge thanks. Dont know why its wobbly. Gopro with chestmount caused it
The external mic is hidden behind the numberplate to eliminate the wind and get as much of the exhaust sound as possible
best sound .. my '67 Hornet sounds just like that too .. i'll have to try locating a mic in that spot, makes her sound so throaty .. good one
is this sound just full in to the wind ? or is it coverd up by something ?
Den sprødeste lyd ...
Sounds great!
