2024 Infection Prevention and Control Week
Infection Prevention and Control Week (13-19 October 2024) is an important reminder of our shared role in preventing and controlling infections in health care. To mark the week, we asked infection control practitioners across NSW Health to share what made them choose their career path.
Thanks to Hunter New England LHD, Mid North Coast LHD, South Eastern Sydney LHD, South Western Sydney LHD and Western NSW LHD for collaborating on this video to celebrate staff.
As the lead agency for health infection prevention and control and healthcare-associated infections in New South Wales, we provide leadership on safety and quality across the state.

    A very good video on a subject that is largely forgotten. A look at "the big picture" As a nursing student it's not good enough talking about in lectures, it needs to be practiced and often is never enough. It's one thing studying nursing, it's another mindset to be situationally aware of environmental factors that are either passive and/or emerging. Being a soldier taught me these many times and there was no second chance in a combat environment. It's an innate sense of mental awareness that once you get it, you never loose it.

    The n95 is not sealed against a cleaned shave face. How are you able to get a sufficient seal?

    • @Mr360Gman
      @Mr360Gman ปีที่แล้ว

      because the beard cover band covers the hair which creates a seal against the n95. the n95 seals against the beard cover

    You can't easily mold the nosepiece like that. It will just fold in in half at a random place of your nose bridge and stay that way. You better pre-bend it in a __/‾\__ shape before putting the respirator on and _then_ adjust the nosepiece on your face.
