Worn by married women( specially red or maroon dot) now a days nobody cares its red or not but it should match their saree and unmarried girls wear any colored Bindi...identity of being Hindu. Its like sticker these days back then its was only made by red powder called KumKum. That red thing in middle of hair is Vermillion the groom fills it on wedding day and from that day married woman wears it( not necessary its her wish). Boys also apply Tika made out of Kumkum on auspicious occasions but its long one not circle

In this movie the dads character is an example of a classist man, it’s less about the fact that Rahul wanted to choose his partner but more about the fact that she was not of the same class. Remember when the dad literally didn’t want to go to their nannys daughter’s wedding because of how it would look if they went there. This isn’t just an example of Indian culture though, just goes to show how much rich people can be assholes lol
Oh my goodness thank you for this explanation because I literally could not sleep without wondering if this is how it really goes or still goes for south asians. Do the children get to meet who their parents choose before they get married? Does this lead to unfaithfulness because you didn't get to marry who you want? Does it lead to resentment towards the parents or new partner?

Hey Moomer! It's been a while since I last saw your reactions. I can't believe you've been dropping new ones left and right-congrats on your growth! 😊 Also for 18:21 "Is he really singing?" To answer your question: Nope! But here's a fun twist. The guy singing on his behalf sounds just like him. It all started one day when he recorded himself on tape and played it for friends and family. They all said he sounded like Amitabh Bachchan! Plus, he could sing pretty well too. Fast forward, and now he's been the singing voice for most of his movies and made a career out of it! Crazy, right? And 20:07 its a birthday party, its the dads birthday lol
