How could they be separated and unable to reunite after the war when the country is small? I find it surprising they couldn't go to a police station and locate their loved ones.

Just to clarify: are the families separated in that one lives in North Korea and the other in South Korea, or are both people in South Korea?

Most of them are usually from the Northern part of Korea who got separated whilst evacuating to the south in the midst of war and chaos. Yea so everyone here are in the South at this moment.

I am Korean but my family never went into detail about Korean history because I lived in the U.S. and I would learn about U.S. history. For a long time I wanted to learn about Korean History but I only knew remnants from my family. Since I am doing an NHD project about the Economic Growth I stumbled upon this and now I don't regret it.

Dear Tina, What a moving video tribute to Ireland's boglands. I found it searching for visual context for Heaney's bog poems from North, and am eager to share it with students. I hope that's OK; I'll credit you, of course, and usually 'educational purposes' means it isn't a breach of copyright. Thank you for your inspiring work

War should be the absolute last resort. We all have mothers and fathers who would move heaven and earth to keep their families intact. We are so quick to conflict and dehumanize our enemies, we should never forget that we are all of this earth.

The title of this video is quite vague which leads to confusion in the comments. What is meant by “book”? What is meant by “oldest”. The cuneiform tablets unearthed in Iraq in the video dates from the 7th century BC. Scholars then postulate that the Gilgamesh epic goes back to around 1500 BC. We have tablets that contain writing which dates from around 3000 BC.
