I think it was the sound recording I was referring to. I noticed Samul-Nori is extremely hard to capture on video because the instruments are meant for natural audience rather recording. Consider that philisophy :) Do I think there playing is awesome? You best believe it!

1968 Berlin Ostbahnhof December 1. All my luggage was stolen. With a fast running Banhpolizei I went to U- Bahn for checking - but the U-Banh controller runned away when he saw the Polizei. Rather depressed with four east Mark, a train ticket and passport I went to a beerstube to kill time until my train for Warsaw took off. There was only two men sitting in the beerstube at that time - and they invited me for beer and some food. Hans and Franz had both been prisoners i Siberia.

When back in eastgermany in the fifties Hans was a communist, married to a russian, and he was now a diver specializing in bridge building fundament. We had more beer and Hans got emotional as he had left his Danish wife in Soenderborg and not seen her since 1939. He told that Warsaw was the most charming city before it was smashed - good cabaret and beautiful women. Franz was now feeling so good that he wanted to go back to war and teach the russians a lesson:

Give us weapons and we will go through Finland and beat them up - now Hans had to silence Franz - easy Franz other people can hear you - what a nice friendship the two old warriors had. In good mood I went for the train to Warsaw. 1962 Franhfurt/Oder - Berlin - parked at the German site on Oder had a chat with the soldier as the costume officers was busy dismembering a polish car - went out on the bridge to have a look at Oder - suddenly as suddenly used to be - there was a scream - stop or I will shoot - this does not sound like a joke in German - the soldier I had just talked to pointed his riffle at me.

I'm proud of where Germany has gone in the last 50 years it is a testament to the hard working German people, I'm of Flemish -German descent my great-grandparents came from Monchen -Gladbach and from what I heard from my parents there was enough suffering. Hopefully in the future there will be no more conflicts but it doesn't look likely.
