I dont have this set and I dont know if im ever buying it, the proportions of the car just look so off. Im not a fan of how the real car looks either so this one just looks even worse. But I did see someone replace the wheels with the thicker slick wheels that come with the bmw 2 pack set and the new wheels made this car look so much better

I got the grey one for Christmas and this is by far the coolest $50 technic car, I love how many features they packed into this thing

Cool set, have rebuilt it multiple times :) I also made a version with working headlights (and RC mod) on my channel if anyone is interested. I used almost only the pieces that came with the set.

I was missing a piece that attached the bumper to the left side of the car but otherwise it's a solid build. They accidentally gave me 1 more piece of the front bumper and excluded the connector piece.

So to explain a bit, the little weird hexagonal thing you mentioned that looks like a reactor, is a nuclear reactor. It’s an RTG that converts the heat coming from decaying Plutonium into energy, its more efficient than solar panels so it’s used for probes, rovers and somewhat soon also drones sent to far out planets and moons in our solar system, where there’s little sunlight. Also the little mars drone is ingenuity, the cutest little mars drone and the first ever drone to fly on another planet. The irl drone sadly crashed a couple months ago but at least we have the Lego one

The only downside is the front lights made of stickers
