100 percent, please wrap it in bubble wrap it travels across the whole world T__T My Shades of Magic trilogy came damaged as there was no protection at all :( I really hope you have a different opinion on the Stars are Dying and actually like it, bestie. The edition is beautiful. Such a shame. Also, yaas, Caraval looks so awesome <3 As for the Crown of Nyaxia, I also have the lines in exactly the same spots, so I think these will be the same for most of us. Still sucks. Fairyloot confirmed these are a printing issue and will not replace them if this is the only damage as they cannot make sure the replacement will be any different. I do love the spines though, more than the actual printed edges :)))

I've gotten a respone from FL about Crowns of Nyaxia, they are replacing the one with the "dull" edge, but not the book with the lines on the hardback! Better then nothing!💕

Totally recommend Mistborn before Stormlight archive. As a matter of fact I would recommend in this order 1. Mistborn era 1 2. Elantris 3. Warbreaker 4. Mistborn era 2 5 Stormlight archive It’s definitely a years long commitment to get though Cosmere.

🧛 Great haul as always! I received my fairyloot editions of Serpent and the Wings of Night last week and the coloring of your edges on the first book is DEFINITELY off! I didn’t notice any lines on mine but now I want to go recheck them. I was a bit disappointed with how dark my edges were. I can barely make out what the designs are! 🥴but super happy that they are both signed! I hope Fairyloot will at least replace your lighter colored edge! That’s a shame!

I would recommend you read the deal before the graham effect as she is the daughter of that couple (plus that book is top tier)

My copy of The ashes and the star-cursed king has the same lines but they don't bother me that much. Spectacular is truly spectacular indeed. I am budgeting too, January is going to be a really expensive month, I think.

The colour for the foil on The Stars Are Dying has to be my favourite one~ Oh.. that material for the harcover ohh noo it seems like it's gonna crease when you're reading the book >_<'' maybe I'm wrong. The foiled snowflakes on Spectacular!! So cute ;_;. Such a shame about the 🩸Crowns of Nyaxia🩸 books... The colour looks amazing, the dust jacket looks really good too..the artwork T-T stunning! When you went back near the bookcase and were turning the book it did look like the stars on the hardcover were glowing?...but the edges look way off and they don't match.. maybe it's because of the colour difference....I hope they get back to you :(....🧛OMG LOL I was just talking to one of my co-workers about the Stanley Cup collections thing she kept sending me the "packing my Stanley videos" and we were both just confused about it.. What's wrong with a plain water bottle? I mean I kinda get if you're getting stickers to decorate that's fine but... whew people go crazy on the accessories.. and the different colour variations🩸

They're all stunning! 😍 I've recently received The Bell Witches from The Locked Library, and it came completely damaged, not only the dust jacket, but the whole book was bent 😢 probably while going through customs. But after emailing LL, they said I would need to completely rip the book in half and send them a picture to get a replacement 🙈

The second that owlcrate announced the darker shade of Magic series I got threads of power! So I hope I can do the same with caraval 🙏

I recommend Mistborn era 1 first (the original trilogy) and Warbreaker before the Stormlight Archive (warbreaker cause background characters appear in both stories but other than that it's unrelated)

I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover but damn.. A Monsoon Rising looks amazing whoever the artist is did an amazing job! I think all the special editions for this one are gonna look amazing. Sadly I have not read the 1st one :(. "3rd Act Break Up" - I didn't know that had a special name for it but ya *coughBridecough* Heavenly Tyrant sounds interesting I wonder if the author can make that synopsis work.. I really liked Pacific Rim :x 📚 oh no Red Rising looks good... but it's a 7 book📚 series.... I'm not sure where you got your copies but I think they look amazing📚... Happy Sunday~!💜

The thing is, for a lot of booktokers/tubers nowadays it's another trend rather than real love for reading. They don't really care, all they want is to brag about the beauty of the covers on their shelves. It's purely superficial. Once you get that you also get why so many books are overrated on dedicated sites. The "book lovers" are just fangirls of the books' covers. It's basically their new Chanel bags... They probbaly like the fact that making reviews of books makes them look smarter than they actually are. But if you really listen to what they have to say about the books you realize that they don't say much actually.

Love the updates, thank you for doing these! :) I would read Mistborn first, it’s more of an introduction to the epic fantasy world and the magic system. For Mistborn you can read the first book only ( as it feels complete on its own) or the first 3 books only to complete the entire story as book 4-6 are about different characters and time. But, it would be a better way for you to be eased in the complex world of The Stormlight archives. But if you are already used Epic Fantasy already ( ie you have read Game of Thrones, Wheel of Time etc) than you can dive directly into the Stormlight archives ☺️

I genuinely hope that it is a real minority that feels like books have to many words, that they won't read long descriptions or plot building. I fear that it will cause a wider spread problem of author's not writing the epic stories as often, or even at all in the future. One thing I adore about reading is that (no matter the genre), you are getting a snapshot of what the world looks like at the time it was written. You are getting knowledge of how people spoke, how people acted in social situations, the struggles that people were fighting against and also the really amazing things that happened during each of those times. We risk losing that knowledge because today's people don't want to take the time to read/understand it. We would also be in danger of losing the immersive nature of a story. I love getting lost in the world the author created and the only way to do that is with those words, those long paragraphs, the non-dialogue situations. Dialogue does not hold worth if you don't understand why they are saying it. You need their history, their situation, their world described for it to hold weight. It's just a sad trend for me to witness. I've been reading novels since I was 4 years old and I don't want to lose the magic of reading because a minority of readers don't actually like reading.

I'm sure it's rage-bait, which is scummy on its own, but the fact people genuinely admit to mostly skimming books appalls me. It's a book. It's supposed to have words. Like you talked about, there are alternatives for people who might struggle with smaller font (or even specific font types). I think people who skim don't do it because page count or don't size; they're just trying to be apart of a trend without having to do anything. I've seen this with people who "review" books and all they do in their review is rehash the blurb on the back without giving their own personal thoughts. Red flag they never even touched the book. I don't think there's a decline. Booktok just brought out a bunch of people who wanted to hop on a hype train and now they're showing their real intentions, it looks like less -- but it's not. We're just weeding out the people who never were big on reading books but attempted to act like they were.

I kinda hope the virality of that video made more people aware of Six of Crows and gained it more readers, that would be the only silver lining for that rage bait.

Thank you for speaking about this..I have seen the 1st clip in full, and I follow her, as she is entertaining, but all of the books she hates are books that I personally love & adore and when she posted this video, it aggravated me so so much. For me personally, a book is an instant DNF if I start skimming it.

Creators like this are why people are looking down on Book accounts now, because they think we are all “playing” at being readers. It makes me so sad that it is basically being used as another string to influencers bows because it’s popular to be a reader at the moment. I can only hope these types of creators move on to the next popular thing soon. What really irks me is these people will also be rating on amazon etc and hurting the authors ratings and they hardly even read the book! I could go on 😂 this is why I’m not on TikTok. Great video 💕

I appreciate the points here are sarcasm/rage bait. And I even understand some of them, I still haven't read Iron Flame because of its tiny font and just how crammed the pages are. So I get that. But I am also not a booktoker. I don't have followers who are influenced by my opinions, and I don't earn an income for my reading. However, if you ARE earning an income for reading words on a page but you are complaining about how many words you've got to read...maybe pick a new thing to be an influencer of. Because that's honestly borderline becoming a vet and then complaining that cows Moo. We all skim read from time to time, that's perfectly okay. And especially on a Kindle, I don't know what it is about that magical device but it gives you the ability to absorb words like a sponge VS holding a physical book. But to completely skip whole pages and big chunks of context because you're offended by the amount of words in between the dialog, I'm sorry but that's so stupid. Please don't call yourself a reader if that is how you read all books. We do not claim you.

Gorgeousss! ❤❤🗡️ Every single one was stunning, including the mistake (I love that edition). I'm so happy I got my Lightlark too, and the first thing I did was read the bonus chapter. Loved it. Honestly I was shocked when it actually arrived since I live in Lebanon (in a so far ok part of Beirut) and shipping is iffy. Yay! 🎉😆
