I think your tent setups really need to fit what type of camping your doing, the fold out tents definitely have more room and interior space for a family, there are trade offs, they are heavier and take longer to set up and take down but with vestibule options they are by far the most versitile. If your looking for a lighter setup that is simple to setup and take down and do not need alot of space and perhaps want so storage a clam shell tent is the way to go. I really like the GFC setups, I switched to one of their clam shells the aspen lite xl and i love it, there are lots of manufactures that make good tents and you can spend as much as your wallet will allow. If your just getting started a ground tent setup is a perfect way to see if you like the over-landing style of camping, i recommend the hub style tents, they are awesome spacious, easy to setup, and good price point, we lived out of our gazelle overland tent for two weeks in the mtns of colorado while we explored the san juans and it was awesome, but we missed being off the ground and switched to the gfc aspen lite xl and thats the setup we currently run and have for the last year and a half. I guess the intent follows the principle that a lock only keeps an honest man honest. The lock does secure the tray to the tire so they could undo the straps or cut them but it would be a mess to try and get away with.There is always away to defeat any system, but I was not going to make it easy and so far its been several years and lots of miles offroad and I have not had one issue

Well i dont have a stock wrangler and the door hinges are reinforced by a bracket capable of holding a 37 inch tire.

They do not but they sell an amber lense cover for them. Thanks hope that helps

Thank you, I am not sure of the exact weight but i have run the jeep with a couple set ups, roof top tent and awning and roam boxes and a gazelle tent in a tray, in either set up i have a winch up front, rhino rack backbone system and roof racks, full size 35 inch spare in the back 4 gallons of extra fuel, skid plates underneath, 8 gallons of water in a foot well tank, cfx 45 fridge, and the kitchen setup, a 11lb propane tank, all my gear, recovery equipment, and tools and with the aev overland high capacity springs the jeep has never been overloaded or squats in the rear and the suspension cycles and performs like it should and i have been all over the country with that setup with no complaints, I have a bunch of videos of where i have taken the jeep if you want to see the type of trails I have been on for perspective. @BobLay-t9i we were only using it for vehicle to vehicle coms, at the most a mile or two, everyone has a different use case for anything they use, this was ours

It will not void the warranty, just keep a log and receipts of the oil and filter and record it in your owners manual in the service section

@ it’s not a factory warranty it’s one purchased from car lot.

@ has to be certified licensed repair shop . Which kinda sucks because I can do a lot of it myself.

I think you will be too wide, i just barely fit with 35s and the tires were touching the trailer sides as it was, i even aired the tires up to max cold pressure to make them skinnier, good luck

Thanks It really transforms the truck. I am really happy with it, this is on a first gen tacoma each panel is 34.5 inches and they come up almost 28 inches off the bed rail when open, so lots of room to get things in and out, hope that answers your question

Its good, the cover has held up perfectly to the seasons and uv and the tent is great, I am about to switch it over to my new to me first gen tacoma project so ill be excited to see how i like it where i dont have to climb so far up, super impressed with it

Thanks, for question one i had a combination of a long handled fine toothed ratchet that allows little swing to use the ratchet and a universal joint extension. For question 2 I hand threaded the individual bolts into the foot of the winch to avoid cross threading then tightened with a socket and torqued with a torque wrench. Hope that helps.

Hello, You dont need them for the lift especially if you add the geometry correction brackets, i added them for the greater articulation of the joints on the control arms, just allows the suspension to flex in a way to help maintain traction.

Sorry, didn’t mean to be unproductive. My thought was that loaded down rigs, and the area that was a little off camber…. Some people forget to switch to 4low for better control. It sounded like the motor was struggling a little and then created a lot of wheel spin. Your video and information was great. I’ve been through that area as well.

@erickweinzapfel196 water crossings and sand I often switch into manual shift and start in 2nd gear in 4low, with the rubicon transfercase ratio 1st gear can be really low, so it will have lower rpms than if i start in 1st and it gives a little more wheel spin which i feel is important on slippery rocks

The tent comes with t bolts that slide in the tent rails 8 total so one on each side of the rack cross bars per rail and then they are fastened on the bottom with metal straps that have a bolt hole on either end that basically makes a u when you bolt everything together, super secure
