Carving on the Edge Festival - Experience
So much heart in these words
So thankful for the teachings Tim shared in this video. His generosity is so humbling 🙏🏾
Keep coming back to watch this over the years, has to be one of the best conversations about Nuu-Chah-Nulth art I've ever heard. Thanks for doing these
Important Canadian history
You packed a wealth of information into those five videos, wow!
What I wouldn't give for one of those tables! Very comprehensive carving instruction, nice job!
Thank you for sharing from my hometown i grew up in since i was six years old. My two Metis Coast Salish brothers learned how to carve at 8,9 years old on 407 Bute Street,by elders that carved in our apt building. He sold many of his pieces at Whistler Mountain on consignment. Sadly Cliff passed away April 23,he was thankful to these elders as he fractured his ankle skiing Mt Washington in 1980,that he had the experience carving to fall back on for his lively hood. Thanks to Judith Sayers for gifting the new President of the University of Victoria, the Talking Stick at V.V.I. One month previous my cousin Myrna Elliott gifted Mr Kevin Hall her Homemade Blanket at the University of Victoria. This was in collaboration of both Universities working on truth and Reconciliation.
You remind me of my dear friend, George David who was also very talented.
🌼❤️🔥✨
Excellent wood explanations. Very helpful.

Very nice interview, amazing old and present carving. thanks for the work in putting this on........and for Christen telling the stories.
Thanks for this
Thank you for this discussion! So much to think about. 🥰
Let’s see the way this goes, carving!!!!!
Would you recommend Pacific Yew for a carving mallet or would it be too brittle for that ?
These how to videos are great! thanks so much for uploading these !
So much appreciation to be able to witness this tradition being kept alive and being able to see it from forest to ocean.
Been really enjoying these videos - thank you
Thank you to you both and all the Nuu-cha-nulth carvers for sharing these stunning journeys. Klecko
Congrats and much gratitude to everyone for these stunning films, especially the Nuu-cha-nulth carvers who shared their stories and to Joe David for reminding me that art is integral to each breath. Muscle memory - a new and important concept for me.
