    Powerful video, very well done. I lost 100% hearing in my left ear 4 years ago to cancer treatment. Reading Dan Brown’s novel Origin there is a very accurate description of Bone Conduction Headphones as part of the plot. Not much to lose I ordered a pair from Amazon, Bluetoothed to my phone and heard both channels of stereo music. I can totally relate to your tears of joy. Some brick and mortar retailers (running shoe shops) have in-store Aftershokz (now Shokz) demonstration displays. Anyone with full or partial hearing loss should be trying these. Thank You

    Hi, thanks for sharing your video. I’m profoundly deaf not sensory. Will it work for profound 🧐? Ofc I wear hearing aids. Ofc I got headphones 🎧 but want to know whether bone conductor works. Don’t think so earbuds ie AirPods Pro will work for profound not mild deaf/hard of hearing

    Thank you Amanda for the review and in particular your thoughts as someone for whom normal in or over headphones don't work. I haven't bought any so I can't say what the user experience is but I feel that this design is far more practical when it comes to needing to hear important sounds. In truth, this utilises the natural hearing system we all have. I can see it being both a sound style accessory. As a fellow deaf person with a different level of hearing loss it's clear the product industry over looks deaf people? Maybe that would make an interesting subject for a future video? Anyway, peace and love. Have a great Easter weekend. David.

      she likes them too! her favorite part is that she can keep her hearing aids in and communicate with me but still use the bone-conduction headset for using her laptop to play games and listen to music. I think they're great for people who'd like to listen to something over Bluetooth but also be aware of their surroundings. cool product!

    Thanks for the review. I have bone hearing loss - and I’m having trouble finding headphones that are loud enough. I bought the DT770 headphones made by Beyerdynamic and they are very comfortable to wear - but they are not that loud. I’ll have to try the headphones you’re using.

    I had This type of idea come to me after watching the movie unholy recently.... its already existing i guess I should waste my time attempting to develop it , but mine is supposed to convert music beats into rhythmic vibrations for a rich experience. I had it step by step development. Let me give it up.

My mom has almost 50 percent hearing loss due to weakening of the nerves... she is not able to use any type of headphones or earphones as the aid is not completely in ear. Will these headphones help her listening to audio calls and meeting calls such as from Cisco webex app? She has been attending a lot of meetings lately using laptop and i notice that she is not comfortable at all. Any advice would be of great help :)

    I'm very happy to hear that these work for you! my wife had a ruptured ear drum as a child and can't hear from one side. i will be buying these for her! perhaps you should consider cochlear implants instead of regular hearing aids since these seem to work better for you

    • @gringoamigo8146
      @gringoamigo8146 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was told that I was the perfect candidate for cochlear implant, but I never went through with it. It is permanent. There is no going back after this is done, so tough luck if it turns out the person doesn't like it. I will be waiting for something better and more advanced like ear hair cells restoration perhaps via CRISPR or some other methods.

    • @amandabeth8269
      @amandabeth8269 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you got her a pair and I hope she is able to enjoy them! As @gringo amigo mentioned, cochlear implants are permanent and more often than not, take away any residual hearing that is left. It’s not something I want, at least not at this time.

      Can we use it as hearing aid if one of a hear doesn't work...?

  • @gringoamigo8146
    @gringoamigo8146 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for the review. I wanted an unbiased, real world review from someone who is hearing impaired or deaf. I've first discovered these bone conducting headphones about a year ago, but I'm extremely skeptical and a cynic by default, so I sorta shrugged at the idea and thought it was probably another one of those "snake oil" marketing tactics. I'm convinced enough to give it a try. Also, a question, my hearing loss is from birth due to damaged hair cells- There's very little hair cells left. I have severe hearing loss and I also wear hearing aids very similar to yours. Do you have the same ear condition?

    • @arminsf
      @arminsf 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      i'm by no means any kind of expert but it appears that these only help if your hearing loss has to do with the middle ear (ear drum) or outer ear. You need to have healthy cochlea. Which in your case seems that you don't because your hair cells in your cochlea have been damaged.

    • @gringoamigo8146
      @gringoamigo8146 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arminsf I found that out not long ago, and you're correct. These won't be much help. With that said, I'll continue the search for a good headset. Thanks

    • @trappedinside1

      Jacob Aguirre I have some residual hearing left that allows me to hear some sounds with my hearing aids. The problem with headphones for me was I had to take out my hearing aids and then I couldn’t hear most of the music. With these special headphones they permit me to wear my hearing aids at the same time.

    • @amandabeth8269
      @amandabeth8269 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dexter Lee No, you would not be able to use these in place of hearing aids. They amplify, but they don’t have the technology hearing aids do, and they are also Bluetooth, so while they could be helpful with listening to music or doing something on a device like a phone, they would not do anything as far as helping to carry on a conversation or hear and understand the world around you.
