I always did find it weird these people were so quick to separate after meeting the only other living humans in town. I mean, sure, Eddie's not exactly in my top 100 of people I'd want by my side in a fight, but still, there were like three, four people tops in this entire town that weren't literal monsters and they all just separated anyway. Apparently no one believed in strength in numbers? For that matter, I never really understood what Eddie's existence did for Silent Hill 2 narrative as a whole, theme-wise. He's just sorta there at several brief points in the game, you watch him go nuts, you move on. Angela at least serves as a parallel for James's own grief and a foil for how the town turns trauma into monsters, but Eddie? Guy just screws around in loneliness, goes mad, and dies.
