As of August 2007, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved mifamurtide, also known as L-MTP-PE or Mepact, for the treatment of non-metastatic osteosarcoma in children and adolescents. The FDA cited concerns about the study design and analysis as the reason for the rejection. However, mifamurtide is available for clinical use in other countries, including Europe, Mexico, South Korea, Switzerland, and Israel.

I am 29 chapters into my novel, I don't expect to be famous or have it sell ridiculously or anything like that. But if it did that would be nice, point is all of the money I make from it will be donated to you. 15 years, one month and 21 days of absolute hopelessness and despair. All that time wishing it was me and not her, you people are severely underrated and need more support. It kills more than children, it killed my soul. I wish I could have helped her, it won't bring her back but maybe if i can contribute somehow in the future..... Maybe someone else won't have to live in a nightmare.

Id love if you can fin different perspectives on the decission process, and the different things you have to face with each different decission. I've heard of cases when they choose amputation rather than limb salvage but they dont explain all the things they took into account to make that decission. I had LSS 13 years ago and despite the first year was very rough i had very good results and a very functional leg. Except ive had pain crisis from time to time. Now my prosthesis is becoming quite loosen and i may have to face revision surgery in the near future anf the thought of dealing with all of that again makes me wanna rethink my options. And despite ive had so many good years the fact that these are not permanent surgeries and that ill have to pay to go through all of that once again is really scary. Idont know id just like to listen to more perspectives on that subject.

@patriceg8456 how sorry we are that you experienced the same pain. Two thoughts for you: 1. Those that "left" were likely not your people to begin with. A painful loss - yes. Are you better off in the long run knowing that they are not meant for you - yes. 2. All above being written - can you remember a time when you did not have the courage, ability, knowledge, empathy, or bandwith, to show up for someone who was suffering that you knew? I know many of us have missed that opportunity to show love when we could have/should have. Give grace, and grace shall be yours. Hoping your 17 yo is well!
