The music is great throughout. I mean there's an orchestra. I'm not sure what expectations Zoomers have.

How do you have nostalgia for a show which aired 20 years before you were born?

I grew up with watching Dungeons & Dragons and playing the game in upstate NY. Now I love ttrpg with a game system called D100 Dungeon!

It was on CBS in the early 80s, and it's look is consistent with the Anime studios contract work for NA in that era. They showed it again on Fox in 2000 I think as a mid-season fill-in, which was an awesome surprise. That's probably when you caught it. Yeah, the 80s were more hardcore than your childhood.

As someone who watched the entire series I think this is a fair review. I personally like the 80s quality, I think it adds charm. This is based on AD&D and some of the classes are from Unearthed Arcana as Acrobat, Barbarian and Cavalier are not in the base AD&D game. In terms of RPGs I own/play, I am currently a huge fan of Basic D&D but I also have a collection that consists of AD&D(1st), D&D, Call of Cthulhu, Runequest, Cyberpunk, Army of Darkness (based on the movie), Paranoia, Labyrinth (based on the movie). I used to own more but decided to pear down as I didn't think I would get a chance to play them, It's the struggle of the hobby as a passionate DM you want to try other systems but it's hard finding players to try anything other than D&D.

Ahem... In the last battle Trevor was separated from the other 2 by a magical tornado where pieces of the castle rotating at 300 mph....

Here's the take on Lenore's arc: They make a lot of references that she is not taken seriously nor respected by the others because she is different from them. Her actions show she has anti-Vampiric qualities the other sisters do not - a diplomatic sense of logic, a sense of compassion, and the only Vampire that reaches the conclusion that her own being only leads to destruction, eventually. She shouldn't be capable of that kind of enlightenment as a Vampire. Why does she? We're not told. (I mean, Alucard knows this conclusion too but he's more human than vampire when it comes to that) So yes her "cage" is more metaphorical, but her character reasons that A - she cannot change what she is, and B - she will eventually become that which she now is starting to hate, and why stretch out a misery that she is powerless against? Which is a pretty wild stand-on-your-head character twist but it makes an interesting debate. Also this opinion makes more sense if you've read Edgar Allen Poe and "Lenore" and "The Raven"; if you make the maiden Lenore this one except a Vampire, and then make Hector "Guy de Vere", it explains why he doesn't emotionally do more to try and stop her. Plus this is taken from vintage macabre; the genre is ripe with tragedy in romances.
