mothman scene - Connie asks John to Come and Spend Christmas with Her

But the scene from one movie I can never forget was towards the end of the Mothman Prophecies. I know a lot of people might dismiss that film but a scene near the end where Laura Linney calls Richard Gere (with whom she developed a relationship while they were investigating some paranormal activity) on the 2nd anniversary of losing his wife (this is a movie with a paranormal plot line - so you ...

A Beautiful Trip through the Midwest on a 1997 Honda Valkyrie. This is either North Dakota or Montana, I forget which. Any way you cut it this one of my favorite rides of the trip. The highway was in such good shape and there were so few other vehicles on the road. It felt as if this road through the endless rolling grasslands was put there specifically for my benefit. This is the first time in...

As I get ready to start a new project Monday, putting the finishing touches on documenting my trip across North America this summer. At 5 weeks and 9,000 miles it was epic and, truth be said, I can't wait for the next adventure!!! A slide show below with memories from the trip. Special thanks to sister Kathleen O. McClure for putting me up for 5 days in San Francisco and Thais Abernethy for bei...

    I love the friendship they have. He ends up in a town he never knew nor intended to be at, makes friends with the people and has a new family to be with for Christmas

    This was the mothman, not Connie. That's why she tells him he can't call her back. He's a shapeshifter (remember Mary at the police station?). At the end of the film John asks Connie if she called. She pauses in confusion and says "yeah. Yeah I called". She was lying. Leek said the mothman brought him to point pleasant to die; but even he says you'll always misinterpret their messages and that their motivations aren't human. He brought John there to save Connie. He's both sides of the coin. Good and evil

      I think Mothman would've been on the phone had he picked up instead of Mary, and that would've prevented him from saving Connie.

    You feel just as I do about this scene. Laura Linney plays Connie so well, and her gently voiced compassion for John in this scene made me cry when I first saw it, has every time since, and just did again.

    Thanks for uploading this scene. The moment he finally breaks down crying was such a good display of Richard Gere’s acting

    This film was about grief (not just horror) and how we try to find closure thru things that sometimes may not make sense

      @@Stefan-ji2ek True. I've watched it many times and find it fascinating the way it draws you in every time. And every time she explains simply about how they spend their Christmas her compassion over his loss and turmoil makes me have a little weep.

    I use to go Coast to Coast once a year and never enjoyed it as much as I do now riding an old Valkyrie, the bike is so perfect and reliable that I enjoy the ride so much better, and now that I’m an old man it’s even more enjoyable because I’ve slowed down alittle,thanks for the video

      Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Those I did love that Valkyrie I sold it and picked up a 2021 BMW F850GS so that I could do a bit more off-road while I was out. I LOVE the BMW. Sitting in a more upright position is easier for those all day rides and the handling is superb. Plus the updated brakes, ABS, etc. make it that much safer. Good Rides and Stay Safe, brother!

    Nice video! Question for ya - did you ever feel the need for a windshield? I don't have one either and am getting ready for a big trip, curious how that worked out on the long haul

    • @eemcclure
      @eemcclure 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both my brothers' ribbed me mercilessly for making this trip with no windshield! However, to me, with that classic bike, it took the romance out of it. I was fine without one! Good Luck on the trip! Ride Safe!

      The only thing that would have made it better is that it was a father-daughter trip with matching motorcycle!
