GM Release Bearing Installation
มุมมอง 230K16 ปีที่แล้ว
Incorrect installation of the release bearing is the leading cause of warranty in this kit! Incorrect bearing installation is not the result of a clutch defect and is not covered by warranty. Be certain that the fork retainer clips are installed completely inside the bearing collar when mounting the release bearing to the fork in order to avoid a no-release and/or hard pedal condition.
Diagnosing Oil Contamination
มุมมอง 5K16 ปีที่แล้ว
Oil or grease contamination of clutch components is the leading cause of warranty! Components contaminated by oil or grease are not the result of a clutch defect and are not covered by warranty. Once clutch components have been contaminated by oil or grease, there is no way to clean them. Fixing the leak and replacing the contaminated components is the only way to eliminate slipping or chatteri...
Just installed mine wrong, started before compressing slave cylinder Now no start

I would never replace my brake pads without replacing my caliper as well. When the brake pads wear the pistons move out further and further exposing the piston walls to salt, dirt etc. Then they rust or corrode. Pushing the pistons back in puts that rust or corrosion up against the rubber seals. This can cause leakage or worse piston freeze. When the piston freezes in position, the brake pads are pushed up against the rotor, causing lots of heat. You must stop when this happens. If you are in the boondocks, or in a bad part of town, you are in a very bad situation. Calipers don't cost that much. Cheap insurance.
I can’t tell you how many idiot mechanics notice how I didn’t say technicians have installed these wrong. I’ve been working on cars since I was a little kid unfortunately, my truck got a wreck and the transmission needed to be replaced along with the clutch so was in the shop. I went ahead and paid for the extra services since it was already there to get all that done as well. After a few months, I can no longer put the truck in gear. I took the transmission out myself and looked and of course they installed it incorrectly. I brought everything back to the shop just to show them and they told me I was an idiot so I showed them this video. You should’ve seen how lemon faced they got 😂
Good afternoon, what is your email?
We don't need to look at you we need to look at the job we need to look at the caliper we need to look at the brake pads we need to look at the roederer we don't need to see you and your black shirt
I wondered why the bell housing was so clean. 27k vs 150k on mine. Its super dirty.
Bad video
On this day, July 22nd, 2023, I will use this video to help me do the front brakes on my 2007 Denali. Thank you!
thanks for telling all the new guys which way the lobes are supposed to go
what has everybody done for flywheel alignment? It only seem to fit one way but the marks I made vs the way it fits is completely different
The title did not include replacing rotor.
Really should show what your doing back there. Showing yourself really doesn't help.
Thanks for the great video!
Liked the video! Good instructions!
You should of did it with no video because I can’t see a thing anyways. Horrible. Great sound effects though 😂
What yr is that Denali?
I notice you did not open the bleeder valve when you compressed the caliper. Won't that damage the anti-lock system?
Worse video ever. Did you really. Keep it from the other side of the disc. We can’t see shit !! Maybe tell us what size wrenches we would need per part removal also. You tube diy videos is not for you
Hey you guys! One very important thing!!! When you install the yellow plastic bushing into the push rod make sure that the nipple goes towards the clutch pedal direction (the safety switch direction) NOT towards the master cylinder direction (fire wall direction) because the Jeep will not crank and you will go crazy trying to find the problem thinking it’s an electrical issue, it’s just the plastic bushing installed in the opposite direction! Good luck! 👍
How about doing without spending 5 hours taking the fking trans apart!
God bless you my friend.thanks to ideas my friend.new subscribe.
Excellent video!!! Thank you for sharing! 👍👍👍
When torqueing the pressure plate blots you should be tighten in a cress cross pattern one turn at a time each after the bolts meet the pressure plate to prevent warping the pressure plate.
Sa
What did you spray the flywheel with?
The dealership put it wrong on my dad's 75 Pontiac Lemans me and my brother and my dad fixed it at a do it yourself place now when you pushed the clutch it was solid
Note : 2000 Yukon XL , When Replacing Disc Pads Only, Just Remove the 2- T-55 Torx Bolts on the Caliper, You Might need to Fight the Compression of the Piston Cups to get Clearance with the old Pads, in order to Pull Off the Caliper.... But it Will Slide Off...! Then Compress the Cups with a Compression Tool or a 6" Clamp. Pry out the Disc Pads...and Replace with the New...just as You Took it Apart. Then Reload the Caliper...and 2- T-55 Bolts, Torque Them, Start Your engine, Pump Your Brake Pedal...to Bring the Piston Cups Back into Position on the Pads/ Rotor. Do the Same on the Other Front Side. Note : No Need to Remove the Heavy Brackets... = Quick and Easy. Always Use Jack Stands...!! Your Welcome. BillinL.A. 12-05-2021. 5.3L
easy peasy japaneasy haha, quote from shawshank redemption the library scene, the old man brooks shows tim robbins how to work in the library, remember lol great movie.
Would installing the new bearing incorrectly cause a chevy 1500 4.3 4x4 to only work in first and second gear?
Love how the video cut out at all the hard parts so we can't actually see the parts we need help with
Cool. The more you know.
Just did my 99 tj your video was straight to the point and very understandable.thank you
You just don't replace the brake hardware huh?
I don't know, these are prone to fail over time. Very common issue on the 370z.
Yeah the bolt size and length used to remove the rotor is a key piece of info to be provided in this video.
Thank you for posting the video, it was short sweet and to the point. Helped me figure out next steps!
What happen if I cut the retaine strap
Sounds like you allow fluid to seep out and then you have to bleed the system yourself. That voids the advantage of buying a pre-bled system.
I've been slowly getting comfortable doing more vehicle stuff on my own, but I think I'm going to leave NSG370 transmission work to the professionals.
Need some Chrisfix angles
Why not show the rotor replacement?
No anti seize on the rotor stud area?
Wow, this video is awful. Literally can't see what you are doing. Thumbs down.
Thanks for getting straight to the point. Nothing about your personal life. You Rock.
Love the 47 dodge .enjoying all your metal work on international custom crew cab
if only I could diy this at home, lol.
OMG can't see a damn thing!
My 65 C10 has a clutch fork without the clips , four speed trans
Can't see what you're doing from the angle of the camera.
Great video and talking points.
