Ready as I'll ever MTB
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 19 ต.ค. 2021
This is going to be an absolute disaster.
Corona MTB | Troy Lee Trail
Corona mountain biking is certainly some of the best. On another thought...it's crazy to think I'm a dad now... it sure has made it hard to get on the trails riding again! I will say that I've been frequenting the trails with my wife and new daughter but have to leave the bike at home. I need to start her love of the trails early! This is one of my first rides back at riding, and it certainly feels great to be out exercising and going fast. I'll be slower at getting new videos out, but am always looking forward to the next ride and next video to share.

These trails can be tough during the summer, but some light rains made riding this day great!
Hulda Crooks MTB | Valley View Climbing Video (and my climbing tips)
มุมมอง 1252 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is dedicated to the climb... my roots in cycling started with climbing on a hardtail xc bike. I know most don't look forward to the climb, but it's a necessary step to the adventure. Embrace and own it!
Hulda Crooks MTB | Return of the Jedi Alt (Full Pull)
มุมมอง 3372 ปีที่แล้ว
Another clip from our 6/11/22 ride. This is a great warm-up trail. The alternate route down makes this the easiest trail from the top of the preserve there. I included a map to help show where the alternate route is compared to the normal way down.
Hulda Crooks MTB | Sith (Full Pull)

This ride was on the same day as my last full pull post for Caldera. Definitely is the season to start your rides early to beat the heat!
Hulda Crooks MTB | Caldera (Full Pull)

Mid-June ride with Buddy, Ken, and Gary. Caldera is easily one of my favorite trails in the South Hills Preserve, south of Hulda Crooks Park.
Chino Hills MTB | Telegraph Canyon Trail | Perfect for Beginners
มุมมอง 1.9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
A beautiful early June morning ride at Chino Hills State Park. It was my bro Weston's first time going mountain biking, so he borrowed my extra bike & gear for the ride. This trail was the perfect challenge for a beginner: a gradual 900ft climb over 6 miles.
Snow Valley MTB | Exploring Blue & Green Trails
มุมมอง 2172 ปีที่แล้ว
First time to Snow Valley. Oswaldo and I explored most of the green and blue trails. Some trails felt hard to find, but maybe that's just me. There are only a few trails to start from at the top, and they branch off to other trails as you go down. From what I experienced and have read, the trails here are always very loose. The lift to the top was great, but it broke down around 1:30 p.m. Food ...

Just rode at Sun valley yesterday . Trail courses and chair lift views and staff scenery all really nice . The problem is the ground is REALLY loose . Be careful on turns ! Also lot of rocks surprisingly on the green trails.
Can this be ridden by a gravel bike?
In regards to the climb, absolutely yes and you can easily return down the path you go up on a gravel bike. However, the downhill section (block trail aka Troy Lee) has sections that would make me nervous on a gravel bike. Not to say it's impossible, but do what you're comfortable with.
Do you think a hardtail can make it? 🤔
Absolutely! Just go at your own pace, be safe! Rock on 🤘
I hit the lower troy lee today. 10:20 part is no joke really steep. I walked that part too
Glad you made it out there today! How were the trails? Is it in decent shape? It’s been a few months since I was last out there.
@@readyasillevermtb3939 First time there it was good. Decent trail condition.
Nice! Does the route you took have a name?
Hello! Yes, that route is mostly Jack Creek Meadow Loop. It's pretty easy to get to from Ranch House trail (paved), or you can get to it from Creek Crossing/East Ridge. Here is the link to trailforks where you can see the trails I'm referring to: www.trailforks.com/region/daley-ranch/?activitytype=1&z=14.2&lat=33.17359&lon=-117.04710&content=trails,labels,nst,region,poi,directory,polygon,waypoint
how do you get there ?? I can never find the entrance
Start at Oak Mesa Park on Wheeler Ave sir, then follow some people at the parking lot, they’ll get you to the ebtrance
Cool video. Im curious what camera you used? Looks like a gopro on a chesty mount but I have a hero 9 and a chesty and my view is never this good. Max lens mod maybe? Anyway thanks for the video. I just got a new mountain bike last week and I'm definitely inspired
Congrats on the new bike! What did you end up getting? I use a Hero 10 with stock equipment and a chesty mount. Make sure to angle the camera a bit towards the sky to get a better shot while on the bike. I changed a bit of the gopro video capture settings. Have fun out there! 🤘
@@Ryan-hj7gj I got a Co-Op Cycles Drt 1.1. Not expensive by any stretch but it fit MY budget and it does what I need. Thanks for your info, I've used my Hero 9 on the new bike and chesty a couple times and it comes out pretty good. I still can't figure out how to get my handlebars in the frame but that's not going to stop me. I've also got a new phone coming so that should help with the b-roll 😁
Marshal canyon is currently very over grown with poison oak and stinging nettles, especially in the areas where the trails get narrow…. County crews need to weed wack the hell out of the place…
Good looking out Kevin! I can imagine most places are a bit dense right now after all of the crazy rains we got.
Awesome video man! What bike you riding in this video?
Thank you! I'm riding a Trek Fuel Ex 8. Only mods to stock I did that're worth mentioning are replacing the entire brake system with SLX levers & SLX 4 piston calipers. Stock brakes were not so great. Overall, the bike rides like a dream!
Nice! Congrats on being a dad! It only means you now have far less to enjoy your mtb'ing.... yeah! lol
Hey thanks! The hope is one day she will join the MTB adventure with dad! 😂 that is if mom lets her! Hah!
Nice ride, nice wake up call
Thanks bro! I'll accept wake up calls like that any day!
This video brought back some great memories. I learned how to ride at Block back in the 90s on a rigid Klein when the only singletrack started at 11;45, then Manifold and the other trails were built. To bad it looks like the original end of the trail is now houses. A wall ride down Mangular ditch was always fun. I miss those Wednesday (or was it Tues) night rides.
It's quite amazing to look at the history of riding and how it's a full-fledged hobby for tens of thousands of people now. Technology and gear changes exponentially over time, but none of that stuff will ever hold a candle to the memories we make out there.... Thank you for sharing yours!
Very good trail, did you mark the trails you did? could you share it?
On Trail Forks, the first trail from the video is Pinball, the second trail was Sith, and the third trail was Return of the Jedi. Trailforks link: www.trailforks.com/region/south-hills-preserve/trails/?activitytype=1&sort=global_rank&order=desc
Conditions were awesome I was out there too,I think I saw you guys!Nice video 👍
Awesome man! Thank you! These kinds of perfect riding days only come around a few days a year. Glad so many are getting out there !
Fun times
Dude you are getting faster and faster.
Another great looking trail. Another one to add to my To-Ride list. Great riding boys!
thank you! easily one of my favorites! Tell me how it goes 🤘
Catching air at sith.
This trail looks super fun! Gotta add this to my To-Ride list. Great job riding. I just sub'd
Hey thanks! loads of fun trails at Hulda Crooks in Loma Linda. I'm quite fortunate that these are my local trails!
Thanks dude 🤘
your videos get better and better!
"When your friends go down, what do you do?.... join them of course! LOL"
Looks like a super fun flowy trail. The climb will prob kill me but it'll be worth it by the looks of it. Must go hit it now.
It’s definitely worth it! Plus it will make the next climb easier :)
Great job hitting that awesome trail. And ya spot on, there's always tons of people coming up... at least from my experience as well.
Thanks a lot! The scenery there reminds me a lot of Marshall Canyon. I’m going to post a video of that one soon. I got way behind on video editing & posting rides!
Nice Video! I am new to youtube and wondering if you have any feedback for me? Thank you so muchh!!!
Been waiting months for this video to drop! Great video 👏🏼 the ol bait n switch on the trails 😂
Months! Haha that was three weeks ago but I do agree it feels like months…
Fun times
Scenery that day 👌
100%!! Where've you been riding lately? We should get out to Hulda again one of these days!
Ready as I'll ever MTB no where lately but when im out there ill give y’all a hollar 🤙, the bike has too much dust haha
@@Decepticon313 right on man. Dust off that bike so you can go play in the dust on the trail. 🤘
This is in Loma Linda, CA, right? Looks like some very nice riding up there.
That's exactly right! There's a lot of parking at "Hulda Crooks Park" at the southern end of Mountain View Ave. It's a huge preserve area and loads of trails to explore.
@@readyasillevermtb3939 Awesome, thanks for this info! Cheers!
Great job! This can be a bit tricky sometimes. It looked like your fork wasn’t moving much on the decent, possibly over inflated or locked out from the climb?
Thank you! I can't wait to go back and try it again. You're right about the pressure! It was a little too much. I've since taken some out of the front.
Just finished that trail today definitely had to walk a couple sections lol..
Hah yes! It's gnarly at a couple spots... better to live to ride another day!
Nice run! I’ve only been on this once but it’s a blast!
Thank you! Everyone has loads of fun on this trail. "Outlaw" that runs adjacent to it is also a blast!
Lets go to Troy Lee Ry!
Yes! This Saturday… see you there!
Commentary makes this video fun.
Hey thanks! :)
@@readyasillevermtb3939is there puncture thorns there?
@@jefflodevico3151 I didn’t notice thorns but I’m sure they’re out there this time of year. I run tubeless tires and run with plenty of slime. I haven’t had any issues with punctures the last couple years as the slime seals up any punctures quickly.
@@readyasillevermtb3939thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I’m not running tubeless and I’ve been to Fullerton Loop and I have a phobia of thorns now
Keep them videos coming 👍
Snow Valley is next! 😄 this past week I’ve been trying to catch up on editing!
It looks really hot out there 😓
It's not as hot as Loma Linda but certainly does get warm during the summer!
Really nice editing 👌 great video.
Good times
Great ride, that’s not an easy downhill. RockN’Roll
Definitely a good challenge and lots of room to improve the skills on. Thanks!
Place looks nice, 👌
Went there yesterday for my first time. Made it up the “valley view” trail... there were no signs at the top. I picked some random line down that looked like it hadn’t been ridin in a long time. It took me down to this crazy steep section above the intersection with the “Jedi” sign. I have no idea what the trail was called or what skill level it’s rated 🤣 any ideas what I’m taking about?
Did you go all the way up to the flag? The major trails that send you to the spot your talking about are Return of Jedi and Sith. Those two trails are heavily ridden, especially Sith which feels like powder right now. There are a couple trails that branch off from both Return of Jedi and Sith, but those little trails aren't obvious or easy to see when riding. Both Sith and Return of Jedi are "advanced" trails, and each has a steep section. How did you like the trails?
@@readyasillevermtb3939 I made it to the flag, went down toward the way I came up(valley view) and went off to the right. It was a quick trail and was kinda on a ridge. I liked everything but I only went down the one trail cause the climb killed me 🤣 I definitely need to work on my endurance for climbs.
@@masterofnone1481 sounds like you did “return of the Jedi” for sure then. Good job on going up to the top! It’s a lot of work to get to the flag. Keep getting out there!
Thank god you got me eating it 😂😂😂
Hey, I'm here for you Ken. Two thumbs up for wide-angle lenses. :)
Bro you're getting faster and faster.
thanks man!
We never should of taken that right 🤣🤣
lol... bro most of my time editing that video was spent cutting me walking down and over ruts!
