What makes a musician successful? How can a young talent develop and sustain a lifetime's career as a happy, inspired and fulfilled artist? Why do some musicians glide effortless through life whilst others struggle? Inspired by the novels of Douglas Kennedy, this lecture-recital has a positive message for everyone who cares about music, musicians and piano playing in particular.

Congratulations Mr Murray and thanks for such an interpretation, as i appreciate its complexities 🙏
Love this! So beautifully played! Thank you!
Outstanding Performance!
Love Prokofiev's piano music and great to see and hear you play this movement.
Wooooooww
Bravo
Broski needs to play this with metronome
BRAVO!
wow
amazing! reminded me of Cliburn's(imho the best on youtube) perform. of the 3rd mov.
I played this piece at my college senior piano recital and have always loved it! Thanks foe posting, it brings back lovely memories.
I am studying this in college right now! My instructor says nobody ever wants to play it when she brings it up so she's super excited to teach it to me lol.
3:27 😅
As an Armenian, I want to thank you for highlighting the work of one of our Nations’s greatest figures in your beautiful Cd❤ it has been a great inspiration to me 🙏🏻
Fabulous..!!!!!
di corsa...
Really beautifully played - just bought your books 😀
Thank you very much Jade
Great
2:31 sounds like the Caterpillar scene from the Alice in Wonderland ballet
The most beautiful piano prelude of all time (except perhaps for the Chopin C# minor posthumous prelude) and beautifully executed! The melody rings out like a bell. Countermelodies aptly construed.
厲害

love the rubato during the high parts. a lot of people play them completely straight but there is so much time to be felt in the spaces there
I am learning this piece at the moment
It is so much fun
Nope
Interesting! Amazing work. (Also, hello fellow Modern Poetry ScotLiters!) ;^)
Bravo!
The bar that starts 2.53 only has three beats in your performance - is this intentional? I only ask as I actually prefer this. The fourth beat of that bar as written, with no movement in the left hand, always feels like a suspension of the musical flow with no real purpose.
Fantastic bravo
BRAVO!
Thank you so much for your recordings of Erik Chisholm and John McLeod. Wonderful music which desperately needs more attention.
I do love this piece! But I dont understand why everything has to be played on a stainway haha. In the hi volume the tone gets way to bright. This performance should be way more beautifull if they properly voice the piano. Hear even in the parts that are supposed to be soft way to bright tones especially in the mid range.
A truly inspiring and may I say, perfect performance. Oh . . . to one day reach this level of playing.
😅
G8 speed is around crotchet = 120. Murray`s speed is around crotchet = 458!
but still clear
He has no dynamics in the bigining
Ool
This is very well performed one of the best on TH-cam if not the Best
Bravo....a wonderful course!
NO ONE does or has played this better. Murray is my hero!
Well said, Murray. Really looking forward to returning to Chet's in August.
Thanks so much Leon. Can’t wait for your concert. It is always wonderful to have you with us!
I heard many interpretations of this piece on TH-cam, this is one of my favourites.
Such an imaginative piece, and a fantastic performance. Great to hear this again. Bravo!
You are a wonderful pianist and teacher. Please do continue on sharing your playings as it is an honour to hear them.
The "character" of those who rewarded Jimmy Savile? Those of the Covenant hanging around graven images?
Beautiful!
God created that and if you have any doubts then ask Him.
👍
Hi. Thank you, you interpret this peace with a soft and intrested way. I am practicing also this peace, and I have noticed it is not so easy to get the balance between melody and the accompaniment, but heard that you found it.
