The psychology of Space

We share a little bit about poignant experience we had at our last stop and what we have been learning about the psychology of space and shelter.
1st Trailer Tour
มุมมอง 204ปีที่แล้ว
The first night out in our trailer, we do a short tour of our build-out. We started with a 24-foot Look Moab Toy Hauler that we purchased in late December 2022. We then spent the next 7 months building it into our home on wheels. We will be full time living in our new home by mid September 2023!
French Doors on a Toy Hauler
มุมมอง 2.3Kปีที่แล้ว
We recently added french doors to close the back of our cargo trailer. In this video, I explain a bit about how we did it and show the details of the build-out. Leave any questions in the comments, and we can answer as we see them.

    AWESOME, thinking of doing the same thing. How did you hold up any issues with the glass cracking?

    • @140sqftjourney
      @140sqftjourney หลายเดือนก่อน

      ZERO issues. They have been rock solid and I would not change a thing. We have had the trailer on some rough back roads as we like to boondock, and it has performed flawlessly. We really love having the blinds inside the windows. I recommend going that route.

    I am curious what you used on the ground of the back deck there… Is it linoleum?

      We have OSB painted with the deck paint product for home depot and then ikea decking in that

    I want to do the same in a vox truck, but some people told me that the windows would break due to vibrations

    hello. we were wondering if the doors are still functioning well as you've moved around. Are there any lessons learned that you'd like to share? can you share what kind of screen doors that you installed? And if there's any things that you'd change? Thank you, Ann from Missouri.

      Ann, We LOVE our French doors and have had zero issues with them. We have traveled across CO, Utah, AZ, NM, TX, LA, MS, and are now in Alabama. The work great, open and close with no problems and the big windows are wonderful. Bonus... when they are open they offer a bit of privacy and wind protection while on the deck. We purchased both the door and screen door directly from Home Depot. It is an Anderson Retractable Screen door. It is meant to be mounted on the outside but we had to put it on the inside as we made the Doors open out. The screen lock is on the wrong side but we never use the lock. It opens and closes and latches fine as is. I highly recommend the configuration!

      @@mikescheid6374 Thanks for sharing - I have a 45' KZ Venom 4113TK that came with the 3-season doors (not sure why they are called that since they have so many openings they should be called no season :) ) I have considered replacing them with something similar to what you have but as full-time RV'ers, I was concerned that the bouncing on the road would cause issues. Did you do anything to minimize the shock of the rig bouncing along the roads? Thanks again!!

      2200 with all the materials is a good estimate

    What’s the approximate weight you added? And have you travelled with them?

    • @140sqftjourney
      @140sqftjourney ปีที่แล้ว

      Approximately 350 pounds... we have not traveled much with it as we are still in build mode. I will do more updates on the build-out and then more after we travel. Thanks for the like!
