There was some depth to Stefan here. He wanted maleficient for love. Until the king would offer anyone who killed maleficient. Then, he decided to cut off her wings instead to satisfy both requirements, which shows his cowardice and greed. A man who could have either everlasting love or endless wealth decided to get both, but he ends up with neither eventually.

I once wailed like her n afterwards i cud never fall in love again... Its been 2 yrs n still single.. I was standing n i wailed n fell dwn on d ground n screamed unconsably...her performance is on point... I got numb watchn her performance n recollecting my sitautn

He thought he was being merciful but I imagine most victims would prefer death over losing that chunk of them

in the book verison after stefan brings the king her wings stefan asks when he'll get his prize the throne and his daughter the king more or less tells him NEVER because he didnt think hed actaully do it and he refused to honor his promise because it meant his daughter marrying a peasant. stefan steps back he refuses to cry because if he does the king wins and that means he betrayed his true love for NOTHING so he approaches the king ans saids "your majesty thank you for naming me your heir and giving me your lovely daughter its a shame you died in the night before announing it yourself" he then SMOTHERS HIM

If I was Maleficent I would never forgive him, he's the one who should be the villian and not Maleficent, poor her 😔

I've never seen this movie, but I read awhile ago about this specific scene and its symbolism. I'm not even sure what prompted me to seek it out, but in any event, as a two-time survivor... I have to say, I really *felt* that betrayed, horrified, broken scream in the depths of my soul. I actually found myself sort of physically locking up upon hearing it, because it contained that much raw emotional power. I'm surprised to say that I'm trembling right now. I believe the only other fictional portrayal I've seen that triggered a reaction anything like this was the episode of Mad Men with Joan (iykyk). I'm still torn on whether to see this movie, but I can say with certainly that Angelina Jolie did an outstanding job with this scene. 💔

Aurora realized that her grandfather was a true monster and her father was also the same and he wanted to exterminate Maleficent's species, and not only that, also the fairy species.

I always thought that Angelina Jolie deserved it!
